| Zooming? During play time our puppy runs like mad all through the house. She will run patterns around the furniture at a dizzying pace and sometimes lose her balance flip over and keep going. Pretty amazing, she will come inches from a table leg, turn on a dime and somehow avoid slamming into things... most of the time... Its funny to watch, sometimes she will bark every time she comes to a certain place in her "loop". Should this be discouraged? I wonder if she's going to hurt herself -- or is this normal play for a 6 mnth old?

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Quite normal play. I'd only be concerned with stairs.

| Hopefully this is normal for a 5 or 6 six year old! Mine likes for me to chase her around the living room table to the kitchen, back to living room and back to kitchen running as fast as she can. When I stop, she will continue to take these racing turns around furniture. It is always around bed time. ha |

| Wookie still gets the zoomies as well, at 8 months. A couple of days ago she did it upstairs, and was joined by one of our cats, backwards and forwards on the landing, into our badroom, round the bedroom, over the bed and out again. This lasted for a good 30 minutes! Sukes, the cat, is 13! Mad pair! |

| I love zoomies! Max still does it after a bath. He is an Olympic zoomer. Teddy will do it every once in awhile for no reason. I miss the puppy days when it was a frequent, daily treat with both my boys.

| Oh how I miss those zooming days. We used to have carpet in the family room and Max & Sasha would chase each other at full speed, making loops around the couch. It was hilarious to watch! Max couldn't catch Sasha so after a few loops he would stop at one end of the couch and wait for her to come around and then he would jump at her and they would both go flying through the air. But Toni wanted a ceramic floor in their so they cannot get the speed going like they used to because they cannot make the turns on the new floor. Not only is this normal but I think it is great exercise for them

| I too miss those puppy days. I never watched TV, my 3 zooming babies were more entertaining then anything on TV.

| My maltese does this at least once a week! LOL. Our downstairs is an open area of 4 rooms with one wall dividing the rooms and my maltese runs in circles from the ottoman to the family room to the dining room through the kitchen and then back to the living room over and over and over again 😂 |

| In the winter when it stays freezing for days at a time I agree, it's essential to the puppy's health. Although Pandee's mostly restricted to hard surface floor areas I make sure she gets to play in the carpeted room upstairs daily to do "her thing" (after she does her other things) ZOOOOM!!

They usually start with a game of predator and prey. They hide around corners and slowly sneak up on each other. They'll actually hide for a long time. Then, they sneak closer and closer. And then they chase!!! It's hilarious! Here's a short clip of them playing: https://flipagram.com/f/xdzaclgckU We have hardwood floors too. When we go to my mom's, they LOVE the carpet.
