| ![]() Well, I feel like each week I am posting or commenting on a new potty problem. These fur babies really are hard to potty train! And to those of you who have succeeded I am envious! I thought we were doing pretty good...we crate trained (4yr old rescue) and she could be left for a few hours and would just sleep. She sleeps through the night in our bed, and she goes potty outside but was having accidents sometimes if I left the room (sneaky little bugger), so we just took it in stride, and started back at square one. We really monitored her, didn't let her out of our sight...and made sure if we were not in the house she was in her crate. We fed and took her out on a stick schedule. We were doing well, each day making progress, sometimes going days with out an accident. Well, yesterday she started peeing and pooping in her crate while I was out. And when I got back she needed to be washed, because its everywhere. Poop stuck in her paws. Here is the thing, she like her crate, she will go in and play with a bully stick or nap in there freely. And I don't leave her closed in it much at all - I work from home so a closed crate is only for errands or dinner out, etc. Is this separation anxiety? I happened to have to run 3 quick but separate errands today...and I in turn ended up having to give her three partial baths... and three loads of laundry to wash the bedding. She is such a sweetie, and this is the only thing that just drives me nuts. What can I do? We have tried puppy pads and she ignores them. And I know she can hold it, she lasts all night no prob. Its like she does it because she's mad I am not with her. I leave the lights and TV on...more ideas please!

| ![]() It could very well be separation anxiety. When I have errands I try to do them all at once instead of coming home and going out again. Oh boy do they get pissed. I work from home also. Toto is my rescue boy and was not totally potty trained when we got him. Still isn't to be honest. I have to take him out. If I don't he doesn't tell me he needs to go. That is what I call totally potty trained. Uni is totally potty trained. When she needs to go she will come bark at me to tell me. Toto likes his crate also. Sometimes when I don't see him near me I go to his crate and he is hanging out in there, most times in the dark LOL. It's a fairly large crate. At the far end I have his bed and some blankies. Towards the door is a pee pad. When we are gone I put him in there bc I don't trust him wandering the house unattended. Uni has free reign of the house. He knows to go pee on the pad. But I'm not gone for so long he needs to poop. I think bc she's been pretty good, it must have been the multiple times you left the house and she got mad. Keep doing what you're doing. I don't see anything that I could offer advice on to improve it. I mean, you take her out also and she goes? Just keep doing that.

| ![]() Yup, as long as we have had her, she has gone outside. Like your Toto, Maggie won't tell me she has to go, I just make sure we go out every few hours. Our rescued babies sound a lot alike! ![]()

| ![]() Toto is a very funny guy, but he can be a possessive PITA sometimes. All he wants are his toys and his food. He does toy guarding a lot! We've been trying to train him with tricks, and he's doing ok, but no where near as easily trainable as Uni. He wants food so badly that when we train him, he just looks at the food with giant eyes and sticks out his tongue and drools. But so far we've got him to sit, shake/give paw, lay down, roll over (sometimes if we're lucky), and chase tail (his own tail not a girl's). He's 9 now, and we've had him for almost 2 years. We got him and he didn't really know anything but his name and how to bark at people and all dogs. Esp kids!

| ![]() Awww, thats super cute, and inspiring! Maggie knows...her name. LOL. No tricks yet, I want to try and get leash trained so I can walk her, I think she would love walks if she would just trust me that we ARE going to come home afterwards. Today she had another potty accident in her crate. Sigh...
