| Can you put blocks of wood or small cardboard boxes or something under the recliner to block his access and then when you find him trying to get under it, say "uh oh" and give him a treat-stuffed kong toy to play with? Or toss a squeaky toy across the floor? I'd keep him blocked from accessing the underside of the recliner and give him something to keep his mind active playing with. Tibbe loves to bat around and chew on a small diet coke bottle in an old sock, sometimes with a few pieces of kibble stuck in it.

| Blazer has been shredding lately. His favorites are cardboard and Kleenex. UGH!!!! Good luck to you in getting him to quit! |

| We used rolled up blankets, triangular shipping boxes, and pool "noodles" (available all year around here) stuffed under the sofa to keep Ziva from crawling under. She no longer fits- we now use folded cereal boxes to keep her from going behind it. we don't have that problem with Abby. |

| Its hard until they get out of that puppy stage of chewing on everything, but, please be careful about the recliner. Some have been injured and even killed from getting under or behind one. Our little Tina was hurt seriously after she got caught under one of our recliners. They are really dangerous. It was a miracle she lived. Good luck and hope you find a solution. These babies are so precious no matter what they chew on. lol!!!! |

| They are generally after something that smells good to them when they start tearing at the bottom of chairs and sofas. Could be some food crumbs have fallen inside. My husband loves snacking on dry cereal and when I move the chair to vacuum, one or two sometimes fall out.

| Is there anything he is afraid of that he won't go near or cross? Huey avoids extention cords like the plague. If he can't get under it without it touching him or jump high over it, he will find an alternate route. He won't go under the sofa close to any lamp or speaker wires nor near any extention cords. Of course, now the little bugger is too big to comfortably fit under there and only goes under the sofa if he is trying to get away from something like his momma trying to dress him...anyway, if there is a feared item, maybe you can block access to the chair with that item or collection of items. Maybe try some of that nasty tasting anti chew spray all over the bottom of the chair? I had a friend who's kitten would get under the bed and tear at the box springs. One day my friend heard a terrible sound & found kitty hanging by its neck by a spring under the bed. She saved it, but its head was always canted and it appeared to have suffered an anoxic brain injury and never acted right after that. Please find some way to block your baby's access to the underside of the chair. That kitty incident has always scared the poo out of me.

| Stuffing I put blankets all around the recliner- I believe the problem is the recliner is next to my computer- and I think he is wanting attention- so when he is reaching out to me I made him a comfortable bed on the recliner where he can see me and touch me- so far problem solved- at least for the time being. Thanks Everyone |
