| Potty training...one more question if you can stand it! Bella seems to have mastered pooping on a pee pad....our issues is peeing on the hardwood floors. Here is yesterday's schedule: -up at 7, took her out....nothing -breakfast...she went poo on the pad...LOTS of praise -out every hour and 12:00 an hour of walking and playing all outside -1:00 pee on the floor (I do nothing, just clean it up...no scolding) -Went visiting, car ride then outside for about 5 hour...she had her dinner around 5:00(outside) -Home at 7:30...walked her around for about 15 minutes.. .took her in placed her on the pee pad. -came out of her pen, peed on the floor. This is what she does almost daily.....2 or 3 times going potty...she will hold it till the "cows come home"...lol This can't be healthy for her.......pees so much at one time.

She needs to know that peeing on the floor is wrong - obviously not by scolding, but by a 'NO' mid-pee. Are you able to pick her up mid-pee, or does she do it while your back's turned? Vigilance is the key. When Harry was little, the only way I could stop him was by 'NO' - pick him up, take him outside, and then wait (for however long it took!!) for him to finish. When she's outside doing her pee - I would take a potty pad outside and 'catch' some of the pee on a pad....and leave it down afterwards indoors - hopefully she'll get the scent, and the message..... By the way - does she drink very much - and is she on dry or wet food? Sally + Harry x

Sigh! I know how frustrating it can get when housetraining...Jackson is 5months old & is fully housetrained. He knows his routine/schedule & loves it. We regulate his food & water intake to the same time each & every day. He knows when it's potty time, play time, bathroom time, food time, sleep time, he even knows when it's bath time (which he HATES). Keeping him on this routine that we made has made our lives easier & less messy for sure! I've never tried puppy pads though he's just always gone in the backyard. Good luck!

| We are full time RV'ers and I want her to be comfortable on pee pads and if she goes outside that is a cherry on top. I am afraid that if we are driving and get stuck in traffic where I can not take her out, she will go and it will be routine for her to use the pads. No stress for her. I hope I am thinking this through correctly.......open to ideas

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | Next time she has an accident on the floor use one of the pee pads or paper towels to soak it up. Than rub the pee on an new pad so that it has her scent on it. Same with poo, take a peise of the poo and put it on the fresh pad or smear a tiny bit on the pee pad to transfer her own scent on the pad that you want her to use. Leave the soiled pads down as long as you can stand the smell than do the same with a new one the next time. You may have to do this several time before she gets the hint but normally dogs go in the same place or area every time they go because they either smell their own scent or another dogs. I've done this with news papers and it works every time. Hope this works for you.
