| Chewie talking back Its a frustrating habit that he has picked up; when he has done something bad, and is admonished, he instantly barks, sometimes right in my face. When I correct his mistakes, I use a firm gentle, "No". He gets defensive and will sometimes follow me around, nipping and barking for ten minutes straight! It is so frustrating, makes my boyfriend irritated and, as I live in an apartment, just not appropriate. He has no problems with barking any other time... just ridiculously stubborn and refuses to believe he has done something wrong, almost as if he is defending himself. "Mommy, its okay to pee on the carpet, I don't CARE" "Mommy, WHY can't I bite you, I think its FUN" and so on.... very tiring! lol but at the same time funny.. silly yorkie. Any tips? |

| When he barks shake a can of change he will stop it will just startle him and take him out of barkking mode. My chachi does that kind of barking if he is just insistant that you have to give him attention of or if Im dancing. Ignoring him does nothing I have to take him out of that barking frenzy and shaking the can does that

| I don't like spray bottle training I've seen the adverse reactions to it personally. Doggy time out. Dont argue with him sounds like he is respondibg with play then defense to perceived agression towards him and he's missing the repremand entirely. Giving him a no command in whatever you consistant way you choose and utalizing a play pen or dog unsupervised room is interpreted by the dog on a basic instict level...their behavior just kicked them out of the pack or davor of the alpha-you. Digs are like toddlers no more rhan 2-5 minutes and bring them back. I use the word time out. Seriouy if I say "stop or you'll go to time out" furry ears purk up and they respond...about half the time. Joke.

| Have to smile and agree to disagree. I am a big believer in the water bottle, but it does NOT work for every Yorkie. If I spray Abba Daddy, he just barks more, so I clap and point for him to sit and be quiet. He does. I don't use a shake can, my dogs react to that like it is a squeaky toy and bark more. My point is, find a method that does work and use it consistently. You should not allow your little naughty boy to talk back or nip. A time out might be very effective with him. Let us know how thing go.

| I tried shaking a can of of change, and it seems to have worked. The look on his face was priceless! He jumped back, eyes wide and head cocked to one side. After a minute he got bored and went off to play, pretty much forgetting what had upset him in the first place just hope he doesnt get immune to it! |

| My daughter was at home with Milo and he kept barking at her for no reason. We have tired everything to get him to stop when he does this. She went into the kitchen and got two stainless steal lid from my cookware and hit them together to make a noise. That got his attention. Now all we got to do is pick one lid up and he will stop barking. Now we just keep one on the coffee table and on the night stand. Lol

| This is why YT is so great varying opinions and everyone has great advice! Georgie would flip out if I used a can with change in it. He runs when the timer on the oven goes off. I don't know why he is so skittish but he's 4lbs so I can't blame him honestly. What has worked with him is me being stern and saying NO. He tends to go hide after that. Then Mommy feels bad and gives him belly rubs (I am such a softy) OP I am glad the coins in the can worked like I said some respond others are terrified. It's really trying different techniques to see what works.
