| Just got a second Yorkie! Hi, I just got a second female Yorkie. I have one already and she is 2 years old, her name is Maya. Maya is not aggressive or something but doesnt seem to care for her. This is only Bella's first day here so I am not too concerned but just wanted to get some information on how to handle this from day one so the two will get along in the future. (aside from giving Maya the same attention as before) Thanks! P.S - Bella is 10 weeks old. |

| We just got a second Yorkie, too. Cody is 20 months old and quite a teapot at 13 pounds. He has the sweetest temperment and decided we wanted a new puppy before he got much older. We just got a new little girl (much smaller) about 2 weeks ago. Cailee is 2.5 pounds, and will be 4 months old on 9/30. Cailee is fearless with Cody and they do very well together. Fortunately, Cody doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body. We do have to watch Cody when they play since he is so much heavier, although I have to say she instigates a lot of the play. We've been real careful to show Cody as much attention as we do Cailee. In fact, when Cailee gets a treat for hitting the pee pad, Cody gets one too, (we make him work for his, by following commands, like "sit", "shake", etc.) So far they are getting along very well. Enjoy Maya and Bella!! |

| Congrats on adding your second little girl!! How exciting for you! We would love to see pictures! I added Mikki to my family about 3 months ago. Rosie is not aggressive either but we found out that she CAN be! Mikki was 1 yr old and Rosie was 4 yr old. Since Rosie was here first, I always tend to her first. I feed her first, bath her first, pick her up first, etc. She is used to my undivided attention where Mikki was not. It seems to have worked for us. I will warn you that with two females I see "cat fights" between the two of them. I understand they do this until they figure out who is dominate. Ours has slowed down considerably but we still have them. I think in time they will pretty much stop. You may not have as big an issue since Bella is so little. If I can answer any questions at all for you feel free to pm me! I asked lots when I first got Mikki! Good luck and congrats to you!!!!

| Congratulations, I have a 2 1/2 year old female and a 1 year old female. My youngest Sassy picks on Tessie (the oldest) all the time. Tessie really does not like Sassy and usually just tolerates her. 2 days ago , I guess Tessie had enough of Sassy snapping and biting at her, so Tessie finally jumped on Sassy growling. I had to pull Tessie off of her. Tessie did it again today, and I had to pull Sassy off of Tessie. We had Sassy 9 months before Tessie decided to show Sassy who is the boss. I know 2 females can get along most of the time. They are both spayed, and I have 2 neutered males also that have arguments sometimes. Good Luck. hope I didn't sound too negative.

| Thanks all for your posts! I took few pictures of the little angel. she likes to lay down on the floor by my legs instead of going to the expensive doggie house I have purchased LOL I really dont want her and Maya to be "enemies". How should I train Maya to accept her? |

| Congratulations on the new addition to your family! Let the two figure things out for themselves. Unless they harming each other, don't intervene. Do everything for Maya first to reinforce that she still comes first. You can encourage togetherness by playing with them together or when it is safe, walking together. Be patient. They will bond. Sometimes it takes weeks or even months for the bond to fully develop.

| We got a second female yorkie yesterday too! Ziva is 2 years old and I thought now would be a good time before she got to set in her ways. She is staying very clear of Abby Jane! Last night was a bit rough |

| It will just take time it takes longer for an adult dog to get used to a new addition. You need to give it a month then they should be pals

| One more question Hi, I bough Bella a doggie house that looks like an igloo and Maya has one too. I noticed that sometimes Bella goes to Maya's spot and vise versa. do you think I should train them to go to their own spots or just let it be? Thanks |

| I could use some advice too. We have a 14 month old male dog, Charlie. I found a 1 year old female today for sale. Her owner is trying to rehome her after going back to school. We were originally planning on getting a female puppy, but I kind of like the idea of skipping some of the unpleasant puppy stuff.I would like some advice on how to introduce the 2 of them if we decide to bring her home. Charlie is such a good boy (except for a few housetraining issues). He loves our outside dog and cat. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
