| ![]() What is the best canned food for a 6lb yorkie. She's been eating Cesar Sunrise but I think she may have an allergic reaction to it. I need some idea on what I can switch her to that's good for her. She wont eat dry food at all. ![]() |

| ![]() My yorkie is picky, as well. Dry food is better for their teeth. I've had success with Royal Canin and Natural Balance L.I.D. Grain Free. Natural Balance is also good because there's limited ingredients for dogs with allergies. She also LOVES Stella and Chewys Freeze Dried Dinners sprinkled over her dry food. Natural Balance wet food is also good mixed into her dry food. ![]() |

| ![]() I read on here that can food was not good to give to your dog. My vet even said the samething when I told him I was mixing his dry with wet food. Also I heard cesars is horrible food.

| ![]() Canned food is fine to give your dog- kibble cannot clean teeth and most canned foods are balanced diets on their own. So it is fine to feed canned and kibble mixed or exclusively canned. In general, if a brand is decent then both their kibble and canned (if they make it) are good foods. So research good brands and go from there. Some decent brands you can find at Petco are Natural Balance, Merrick, Halo, Blue Buffalo. Some good brands you can usually only find in boutique stores include Nature's Variety, FROMM, Go!/Now!. If you have a tractor supply near you they might carry Taste of the Wild. The most important thing to watch is the fat/protein content because they are soemtimes higher in canned foods and it is harder to read because they give the percentage on the back before it is converted to dry matter.

![]() ![]() ![]() I mainly feed Nature's Variety Instinct and Natural Balance when it comes to canned food. He is currently eating TOTW Sierra Mountain kibble. He always gets canned mixed in with the dry, unless I have something else to mix in, like leftover chicken, etc.

| ![]() We do the Natural Balance Vegetarian food and Teddi really likes it. I used to cook for her but read all about this one and it seemed good. I have several friends who are using it now and it has helped their dogs who used to have itching problems.
