| ![]() Pita will be 16 weeks on monday and she still bites us all the time. Well, tell her firmly NO, OUCH, yelp like a dog would and nothing works, she keep doing it. Esp to my 6 year old. I have tried a squirt bottle and that seems to be the only thing that will get here attention...I guess I need to walk around with a water bottle all day ![]() |

| ![]() Belle was just a few days shy of 16 wks when she came home. She chewed on us a little. I used to give her something else to chew on when she would bite. If that didn't work I'd put her down and walk away. She stopped biting. It didn't take too long for her to learn that it wasn't ok. Pita will get better, they all do outgrow play biting eventually.

6 year old can pass her carrots and treats and toys everytime she reaches over to nip. Distract delay and change the behaviour. reward teh not biting you every chance you get. JL

| ![]() Lucy's puppy 'biting' did abate somewhat as she matured. At first, she would pounce on our feet (what fun!) or anything that moved - but now she's more into pouncing her toys or our other dog. ![]()

| ![]() You need to pick one method of stopping this and be consistent with it. You can't keep jumping back and forth to different things. I would use the spray bottle as the last resort (and you can't possibly be on the last resort when you have only had her a couple of weeks). Everytime she bites, get up and leave. This is just her way of playing at her age- once she realizes that rough play gets her no fun she will stop. For barking- get a can of pennies, everytime she starts barking shake the pennies to get her attention, the second she is quiet tell her she is a good girl and give her a treat. It will take a lot of attention and consistency but she will learn that being quiet is more rewarding then barking.
