| We don't really take many long walks- they do nothing to tire mine out. The best way to tire mine out is to take them to the dog park and really let them RUN! I like the "tree method" for teaching a dog to walk on leash. As soon as they start pulling stop, do not move again until they have stopped pulling and given slack on the leash. The first few times you may not make it very far, but eventually they learn not to pull.
