| Aggressive Behavior toward other dogs for treats My year old boy displays very aggressive behavior when I give a treat to him when another dog is around. He will charge the other dog even though I give him the treat first. The other dog (right now) is my daughter's yorkie. He has known her for the past year, plays with her and even cuddles with her. He also behaves this way when we feed him and her their dinner. (WE usually mix some wet food with the dry food) We have to separate them and monitor them until they are done. He does not display this behavior when just the dry food is out. They both can eat out of the same bowl and take turns. What's this aggression all about? Deuce is a lover, kisses all the time and allows people to touch him. Any suggestions to get him over this? Thanks again.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | make him sit before you give him anything. if he acts aggressive toward the other dog then say "nope" and walk away without giving him anything. wait a few minutes then try again, if he acts up again, say 'nope" and walk away. he needs to learn that if he is aggressive in any way then he doesn't get treats. treats include cookies, bones, chewies, and wet food. you need to take away anything he acts aggressive with until he learns he cannot behave that way. if he wants nice things then he has to be a nice boy.

| I am curious to know what he would do if you laid a treat in front of him and then picked it up?

| He seems greedy If I put the treat on the floor he would first attack the other dog even if the dog does not go for the treat the same holds true for the food. He will begin eating his then try to go for the other bowl even though he hasn't finished his. As I said we monitor this but the treat thing is just so out of character, Actually he will go for the other dog if I am only holding the treat.
