| Do you sleep with your yorkie?? Well.. I was curious if anybody sleeps with their yorkie because when I first got Bella, I didnt. I was scared of moving and smothering her or something.. so i prefered to put her in a her bed and stay safe there. Then one day, my hubby was gone for work and i decided to sleep with her and have some company.. Everything seemed fine for the first nights but then she started peeing in my bed!!! She uses pee pads and sometimes, she thingks the bed, couches, carpet or anything with fabric is equal to pee pads.. soo since then i had to put her back to her bed and sleep alone. Does someone has had this problem too???? |

| Uni has slept in my bed since day one. I kept a bell on her collar so as soon as i heard her rustle around, I got up and tried to get her to potty. Needless to say, it was a sleepless few weeks, but I was so adamant about her potty training, she was about 75% at around 4-5 months. Now, if she is not within reach, I still wake up and look for her. Her snores wake me up, then make me fall back asleep. So cute.

| Yes, one of mine peed on my comforter a couple of times in the begining, but I said "NO" picked her up and put her on her pee pad. My two wouldn't know what to do if they didn't sleep with me....lol

Kaji started sleeping in his expen. Then the bed came out of the expen and I put it right next to my bed so I could reach down and pet him. Eventually, he won and we sleep together. I love cuddling with him at night! I will say that I have just been incredibly lucky with him when it comes to pottying. He's not perfect, especially when he's under the weather, but he holds it all night. When we use to have the luxury to have him outside potty trained, he would walk up to my face and nibble my bangs. That was his way of telling me he needed to go potty. Now that he's pad trained, he walks himself to the pad if he needs to go at night. He does wear a bell so I can hear him rustle around, but to be frank, he doesn't need it anymore. I do think it takes time when you change something to their schedule/routine. Just make sure to clean up any accidents really well.

| Oh wow!!! Well your dogs are really well trained! I think bella is just lazy to go or she prefers the matress i dont know! She prefers to go on the carpet than her pee pads! So thats why i have to keep her where there is no carpet and hardwood floor. With hardwood floor, she is perfect! but once we let her be in carpet or a bed or something with fabric.. then she stops using her pee ppads and prefers the carpet. I dont know how to break her from that habit! |

| Ours sleep with us now. When they were babies they were crated or in an xpen. Once they were able to hold it through the night we put them into bed with us. I would try an xpen and put her in it at night before bed with a bed and a pad. Two of mine go outside and I used a crate in thier training and my little guy used the xpen and uses pads, they are all very well trained and have not peed in my bed. I have used bells before but there was no way once I got into bed that I would be going outside, but that is awesome too! If you are wanting her to be pad trained I would do a xpen with a bed and a pad, they dont want to sleep in their pee and at night make sure its a fresh pad then you know how often she is going through the night. Good luck!

| Mine sleep with me. A few accidents at first but quickly got the hint that peeing in my bed was not acceptable. Even when I workk night shift, they come to bed with me during the day and will sleep from about 8am until the afternoon before they wake me , barking and running around the bed tells me they can't wait any longer.

The best thing I can say is get up with her if you decide to do it again and take her to the pad (if you're using inside pads) - My oldest Chanel trained in less than 2 weeks - my youngest (Cheri) took 11 months I had pee pads in the house plus a yard back then so I had 2 options for them and all in all it went well - plus I had TILE in the house so cleanup was easy not too easy now that I had to move and have carpet - storms freak Cheri out and she's suddenly taken to not wanting to use the pads or the little outdoor patio I have set up for them -

My girls race me to the bed at night - when they know it's 'that time' I swear the start staring me down and the second I get up .....both run thru my bedroom - out to the patio - pee - then into the bedroom - up the ramp and get into their prefered positions in bed. That's an every night ritual and has been for years now

| Yup! All 3 of them do! As puppies though, I crated them until they could hold it all night with no problems. |

| I am bringing home my (almost) 15 week Maltese/Yorkie mix tomorrow and I was wondering the same thing. I work three nights a week so I think I will have no choice but to put her in her crate or a pen area for night time so my husband doesn't have to worry with her. Do you think that over time she could adjust to being in the bed when I am home and in the pen when I work? |

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Yep! Which one? LOL All 4 sleep with us. They are a little over a year old and they stayed in their crates until a couple of months ago. The first week one of them (who knows who) pee'd in the bed about 3 in the morning. But, it hasn't happened since. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Isn't it fun to roll over into a wet spot ? Happened to me one time only with Cheri when she was a puppy (years ago) and I remember hmmmmm......this is not what I want to deal with every night and luckily - it was only a one time deal |

| I intended to crate because she was so tiny @ 12 weeks ... but I caved and shes slept with me ever since. Kasha is almost 6 months and hasn't made an oopsie on the bed during the night ( although she has made 2 after coming home from the vet) I think like most other yorkies that she thinks it's HER bed and thats why she wont pee during the night.
