| How old is he? If Pepsi was consistently going potty in the right place rule out anything medical first. If he's the picture of health, think back to see if anything in his little doggy world changed. Is he neutered? If not, this could be marking behavior. For now, his ex-pen might be the best place for him. You can't help him if your stressed. He'll sense your negative energy and that will make him more nervous. Does he do it at specific times only? Like when he's really excited or really nervous?

| Please do not "pop him" as these are tiny dogs, plus it will lead them not to trust you and perhaps lead to worse behavior. I would get a belly band and if you catch him a firm "no" and maybe a time out in his playpen. And I agree with previous post, you should get him neutered if he isn't already.

Thanks guys no he's not neutered he's 8mos now,he'll be outside all day n won't go but as soon as we come in the house,he'll run off playing then next thing you know there's a wet spot on the sofa n he's nowhere to be find.I try the time outs in the playpen but that makes me sad

| At 8 months old he's marking his territory and it will only get worse and be continuous unless you use belly bands (if you don't believe in neutering or plan to breed him) or neuter him if he is to be a pet. And...I agree...please don't 'pop' him...you can appropriately discipline him without hitting. Last edited by my2boyz; 05-28-2010 at 04:25 PM. |

| Belly bands work good too! Although I agree that hopefully getting him neutered should help! |

| Oh yeah! At eight months, he's basically turned into the doggy version of a teenager. Maybe try taking him for walks where he can smell new smells and mark there instead of on your couch. A belly band is a piece of cloth that holds a sanitary napkin to catch their urine when they're not supposed to be going potty. Yorkie Haven Rescue sells them on their website, www.yorkiehavenboutique.com , as do a few other YT vendors.

| Yes, belly bands are kinda like a diaper for boy doggies. They wrap around his mid section and cover his privates so that he can't pee all over your house. I will caution you however that it will be something you still need to work on because he will think he is peeing all over and you don't want to create a habit for him but it will relieve some pressure and as you will know that he really isn't doing any harm when he does lift his leg so it shouldn't be as frustrating for you. |

| People associate "lifting his leg" with marking. My boy lifts his leg to pee pee, but he doesn't really mark. He squats too.
