I’m sure everyone tried to help in what they thought was right, but it seems to me that there were “too many cooks in the kitchen”. Some one needs to be the chef – someone with rescue experience. We all want to help – but are not professionally knowledgeable – sometimes we do more damage than good. I was glad to see this thread start because I thought it would be full of positive information that could be used to help with the next rescue, if not possibly help resume Mindy plight. Whether it be who can travel to pick up the puppy – who has contacts with a rescue, who is good at talking to the current owner to persuade them to surrender the dog without causing a lot of problems….after all the main concern at that point is the poor dog that needs to get out of whatever situation it’s in. I’m not without fault – I posted slamming Mindys owner when I saw the post that said she had decided to put her to sleep. In an ideal situation the correct and qualified person should have been notified to try to convince her that her situation isn’t hopeless. I know (or think I know) that several people have tried – but I can only imagine that this owner felt like Mindy feels in a house with 2 litters of puppies….overwhelmed and lost as to where to turn or who to trust. That is where a TEAM comes in. Someone (key word is ONE) is a mediator and the rest there for support. OK – I’m done – I guess as someone not here long – I have a lot to learn. Maybe there needs to be a special forum for feuds.

This thread, I can only guess, started because there were a lot of hurt feelings that someone would just give up on Mindy, or seemingly give up on Mindy. While not everyone posted in Mindy's thread, a lot of people read and read hoping for a happy ending. There were a lot of angry feelings, and venting is a way of healing. It seems that this is the second rescue attempt that has gone awry and just ended badly this year. Why is that? Someone, somewhere is undermining rescue efforts. Why else would people be suddenly afraid or unwilling to turn to a rescue when they are in over their head?

Unfortunately, those who'd like to spend all day coddling & sugar coating every word to the owner who should surrender apparently think they know something better than most seasoned in rescue.

The rescue organizations know what to do and in many cases work behind the scenes to try and get the owner to give up the dog(s). In this case this is a person who has repeatly said they have been breeding for over 20 years and trust me she is not overwhelmed with two litters. If you go back and read all of her threads you will see there is more going on with how she sells her puppies. Any good breeder knows you do not let any other dog come around your litters even the dogs that have always lived in the home. Also good breeders know how to separate males and females so there is no oops litter so again this breeder doesn't make sense when she allowed this other dog to get near her puppies... Also in this case someone who really cares about dogs will not let her dislike of certain people cloud the issue of saving a dogs life because of what has been said here...Again you can read about a lot of the rescues on YT and each case is handled dfferently. You really are not going to see a lot of discussion on this thread because of the difference and the situation. Unless you are involved with a rescue it is best to leave it to them...just like breeding. Unless you are very experienced in it is best left alone. The bottom line to me is that I am not even a 100% convienced this person even had this dog...to many things do not make sense if you go back and read her posts...you know how you get that gut feeling...well I have it in this case.

I'd just like to "echo" this. You all have gone way above and beyond to help these poor dogs and that takes so much of your time, money and energy. Thank You! You are appreciated!!!

| Now someone is saying that Karla is paying for a trainer for Mindy? I don't believe it for a second. She posted that she didn't have the money to pay for a trainer and she posted she couldn't even afford to ship her dog to a rescue and others stepped in and offered to help with that effort. Now after all the turmoil she is getting and can afford a trainer? Hmmm.... And I don't need somebodys personal email address to hear their side...I clearly heard their side when they insinuated on a public thread that there intentions were to put a dog down because their other dogs and puppies came first. No, you are morally responsible for each and every animal you bring into your home, and she chose to bring that dog into her home. We all had strong feelings about that thread, most bit our tongues and stepped back and let those who had the ability to legitimately help with the rescue effort do so. Certain people had NO business getting involved in this, not then and still not now. Such a disappointing outcome. And as stated previously, many of us have been here a very long time and we can read between the lines. What you say and don't say speaks volumes and people aren't being fooled.
