| She's eating the Pee-pad My Yorkie is eating the pee-pad up, she finds it amusing to tear up the cotton pads. We switched to newspaper, but she decides to eat that too. We've tried bitter apple and she still goes after it! She occasionally pees outside but sometimes we're wiping the floor at times. Is there any way to have her pee indoor on something that is easily disposable rather than wiping it every single time? Thanks! |

| My two younger boys are piddle pad trained. The Pommie, Snowboy, loves to eat anything paper. I switched to washable pads and it was solved. I get fairly large ones and put a couple down. They're both travelers when they poo. They also go outside but if I am gone too long or forget to put them out, they use the pads. Whenever your little one has an accident on your floor, be sure to use an enzyme cleaner so that there isn't any scent left. I use Nature's Miracle. There are other brands out there.....some better and some worthless. Good luck. ~Joanne~

| my little guy Moto takes his potty with him everywhere. He drags it along like its a cape. I was told to get a potty pad holder. Maybe holding down the edges so she can't get a start on it will help. I use to have problems with Moto eating books or magazines that were in the slot of the chair or on the bottom rack of the coffee table. Then one day my son was playing with one of those air buzz whistles its not a real type of whistle but one that makes kinda a reving noise, maybe i can find one online I'll look, but the sound really upset my yorkie. So that turned into my "NO" training toy. So I would blow the whistle tell him no, then hand him a toy in place of the bad choice he made. Were heading in the right direction. He knows he cant touch anything on the coffee table, or on the chairs, but if its anywhere else in the house at this point its fair game.... Always a work in progress. |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I was going to post that exact question today. Bridget has done real well using the pads. Recently she has decided to destroy all 3 of them in her room. I did buy a "pad holder", and she pulls and tears the pad from the center until it is all out of the holder(except for the edges). I have bought the pads with the sticky tabs on them and all that does is rip the pad when she decides it's time to drag it across the room - I've even tried to duct tape them to the woodwork.....! She still attempts to use the pad afterwards, but it is sometimes upside down so anyplace that was wet is now against the carpet, and when she pee's on the plastic side it just rolls off....her room looks like a bomb went off in there. I don't mind the mess as much as I worry about her eating it. Hopefully you get some good suggestions, as there are so many experienced people with great ideas. If there's an answer out there - this is where you'll find it. Good luck!

| Thanks! Sigh it seems as though little Yorkies are too smart and loves challenges.. a little bit too much... She seems to love everything that she can tear into pieces! like pee-pads , newspapers , and she has found a new love, the wallpaper... Milly seems to be terrified of cooking racks or anything silvery metal, so we've blocked off those areas but its not solving the root of the problem. I've tried giving her toys as a substitute but i guess the toys aren't as amusing as shredding paper up... (what's the fun in peepads...) Does anyone also find that their puppies doesn't like to pee on wet surfaces? Because I let milly out to pee and she just wont pee if its raining outside. |

| Have you tried washable pads? They're a great alternative to the disposable pads and your lil ones will not be able to shred them I sell them on my website if you're interested.

| Oh my Keyra does this and I don't know what to do. If I watch her she won't do it but when I turn my back she goes to tear up the pee pad. Sometimes she uses it first then rips it up and sometimes she rips it first and doesn't have no where to pee. She knows she shouldn't do it cuz when I'm there she doesn't do it but when she's outta sight that's when she does. She is 5 months old and I try my very best but she still pees on the floor for spite lol. Yes I repeat for spite cuz she won't do it in my sight. She knows what is right and wrong cuz wrong things she hides after she does it and won't do it infront of me. Lol I dunno :P pups I tell ya! I am also looking for solution cuz she needs to potty train properly cuz I want to put the carpet down for winter again and she peed like crazy on it before. The winters here are very cold and she doesn't like boots or clothes on her at all! I'm gonna try my new attempt and buying the grass pad and leash train her on that.
