| Potty Training - Re Training? Here's my situation. I have 2 female Yorkies, both 1yr old. They are potty trained to use a litter box with pee pads. I work. I live alone. The main litter box (at night I put in 2 litter boxes) is in their xpen area where their 2 crates are located. They play there in the daytime and sleep there at night - doors to crate open. They have gotten pretty good and now use the litter box about 90% of the time. I work all day I leave @7:;30 and return at 5. The problem is that one of them and I don't know which one is religiously using the floor of the xpen to pee pee. This happens at night and during the day. I have never seen it happen but there will always be pee on the lino around the box. I know that they are picky about getting in the box when it is wet so I change it often. They are on 2 feedings daily. Any idea on how to stop that or what to do to retrain. I don't think they can be locked up all night in the crate without going to the bathroom, can they??? I just hate cleaning up the pee everytime I change the pee pad. All suggestions welcome! Thanks |

| Mine go in there gated area (both 11 months) and they make it 7-8 hours! I had them in bed with me up til last week, but they were too restless and would jump off my bed and pee on the floor they think carpet is grass??? Now they sleep all night with no accidents..occasionally during the day they pee on the wee wee pad and do occasionally miss it But they try! Taking water early is a good idea! I have even put wee pads all over there area and slowly took them away except 1-2 that worked great!!! Let me know how you make out! |

| OK, I will try the water. I took it up last night. Had pee still beside the box but I did see Lily peeing on the lino with her paws on the litter box yesterday afternoon. I think it is both of them doing it. If I put pads down everywhere they will shred them. What is it about shredding paper that they likse so much anyway They go to bed at 8:00 so it is more than 7 hours till morning. Will have to see what I can do. Thanks for comments!! |

| Oh, no kidding! Daisy has torn the pages out of a paperback book I was reading, but her favorite paper product has got to be the pee pads! I have a cat who will sit on top of the pad while Daisy grabs a corner and tries to pull the pad out from under her! She will also steal paper towels out of the trashcan!! LOL!
