Oh boy....talk about killing the mood. Let's see..maybe try either putting him in a crate in another room altogether & leave the TV or some music on in whatever room he's in along with a toy, bully stick or some other treat in his crate with him. Or try putting something in front of your door so that he's not right up against your bedroom door barking and/or scratching and turn some music on (& up the volume a little ) until you're done!!

Hehe, I know the feeling! Sometimes, it is really embarrassing and awkward when they share your bed.

I only have one suggestion to add. I have this one look and command that my dogs understand. When I give them this look and command, it means that I am very serious and they don't have any choice but to obey.
Think of a toddler stabbing his mother with a fork. The mother would tell the tod, in a very stern, very serious voice, that he is never to do that again. This tone of voice and command is saved for extreme circumstances and used very infrequently.

If you decide to try this, choose a new command that they haven't heard yet and when they do something that warrants this reaction, like your love life problem, say this very sternly and look the dog right in the eyes until he looks away. Always follow this command and look with a severe punishment if the dog fails to comply.

I don't mean hitting the dog. I mean a timeout or similar training tool.

If you do this right, your dog will know that when it hears this command, he must be on his best behaviour, or less.

I'm very sorry if this sounds arbitrary or strange, but it really works. You could maybe try asking your hubby to do this if your dog doesn't listen to you effectively.

He is miss understanding what is going on. In dog language what is happening is see as verry rude.
I work on teaching him to calmly kennel up and hang out there in another room. He needs a little more self control.

Humping for a dog is not sex or control over it feels good, its stress relfie and it feels good and oh did I say it feels good.
Only sometimes is it redirected anxiety.

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions, I won't say I'll keep you informed as I really don't want to share my sex life with every one but when I do find the solution I'll let add to this forum, going to try the can and marbles first (tonight I hope)

Why use fear to train when there are less adversives to use and try?

Didn't think it would cause fear just a loud noise to distract, I don't intend to throw the can at my baby just shake it.

Ok then why does it work if it does not stop the action by causing a fear responce. If I do that mUm shakes those cans things and that is a fear responce and it is mum doing it. To have them work it still fear based but you need not to have the dog see you do it.
It is called an interuptor and you can use them but you need to fill the stop with the action you want the dog to do just just a stop.

I know, talk about mood killer, but i think it might be better than getting up, going downstairs, listen to George making sure the cats haven't sneaked in (which they do as soon as lights off) I said to hubby I'd take his travel cage up stairs but hubby reckons he'll cry if we shut him in there, but I've just got some new treats today so might put one in with him to chew one although I don't really want him eating food in my bedroom, trying to keep that in one area of house. Might just go book a motel for a little while.

Maybe he thinks your husband is hurting you? lol Id say to ignore him, worked for me. After a few times hell just get bored and walk away. But mine does have the habit of jumping in on a kiss, he cant stand to see anyone kissing without him lol
