| ![]() spray bottle with water in it, and say hush as you squirt him in the face with it. I'm lucky, mine bark when they're trying to let me know something, they never bark when I'm out here with them. When hubby is home with them and I'm gone, he said they always bark when cars go by, they think their mommy is home |

| ![]() Pablo is AWFUL about barking. He has this annoying high pitched bark that will make your eardrums pop...I will try the can of pennies tonight.... |

| ![]() Our trainer said teach them the command enough. You can do this by getting a handful of cheerios and throwing them on the ground saying enough. The trainer said it's very important to practice this for hundreds of times and get them to really learn the command before trying to use it as they're barking or they'll start ignoring you when you say enough. Once they know the command real well and the dog hears the command enough while opening your hands like you are throwing treats they'll be busy looking for the treats rather than barking. I hope that makes sense. I haven't tried this so i don't know how well it works. For Rosie I just tell her to sit then tell her hush and she gets quiet. You just need to find the thing that gets their attention off of whatever they are barking at. |

| ![]() I'm sorry to hear about the issue of the dog barking while you're staying with other people. That must be stressful for you. Know what you mean about trying to be calm and assertive, as Cesar suggests. I also recall that he says it's very important for the dog to get a lot of exercise, to burn off some of that excess energy. That sometimes helps with Kasey - when we really tire her out. That being said, we went to our new dog park (which we have been working to create) tonight, and she barked madly while running up and down along the fence separating the big and little dogs.... trying to intimidate the big dogs? Her tail wags, but she puts on a snarly face and races back and forth, yelling at them. Nothing I can say will stop her. But it sure did tire her out!! Good luck....

Yorkie Talker | ![]() I cannot remember who gave me this advice, but it really worked!!! Put coins in a can and shake it before or as soon, as he starts to bark. It worked the first time I tried it. Now all I have to do is put the can close to him and he stops. It took a couple of times for him to stop. I know you said you've already tried it, but I was wondering how and what you did when you tried it? ![]() |
