| No means NO!!!! How can i get Cookie to stop jumping on the bed and couch? I have tried the water bottle, and she just tries to lick it!!!! Cookie is 5 1/2 months and weighs 4 lbs. (she is a morkie) She is getting spayed friday and i know she can't be jumping after the surgery. Im sure the first day she will be groggy from the anesthesia , but what about day 2? I just dont want to end up back at the vets with an open incision...

| you might want to try keeping her on a leash and when she gets close to the couch and ready to jump- either hold the leash tight or step on it so she can't jump up. As for after her surgery- you might want to keep her crated when you can't keep a close eye on her. Also if she is going to jump up- try using a loud AH AH- this stops Layla dead in her tracks- but she is a very sensitiive girl- you might want to try using coins in a can and shake it when she goes to jump up and then praise her when she stays on the floor. |

| My Tink is a morkie too (11 months). NO has never worked with her, but what does work (which we learned in her puppy kindergarten class) is "UH UH" real loud. It usually stops her instantly. She is also now starting to respond to OFF - again said loudly to startle her. As for after surgery, Tink was pretty groggy the first day, and the 2nd day she was either on my lap or in her crate. I was especially worried about her pulling her stitches out because we have another puppy (a 10 month old chihuahua) and they tend to play rough. The crating really helped. Plus, I think they are pretty good about knowing their limits. If Tink got going too much she would give herself a time out . . . I think she knew when to quit. Hope some of that helps. Good luck to Cookie with her surgery. Hope she heals quickly.

| Momo was neutered & he was jumping the day he got home...he loves to jump. No doesn't work for him, I never crate trained my babies, so that was out of the question. What worked was keeping him out of any room(s) that had furniture where he can jump onto. I also tried hitting the couch, like pounding on it & yelling 'NO! NO!' (saw this on It's Me or the Dog), he looked at me like 'HUH?' & didn't jump on it...for awhile. I think his attention span is very short. I wasn't much help, but hope you'll get somethin out of it.

| Puppy's are hyper little ones so by yelling no will only give her more to be hyper about. I would keep the bedroom door shut and put the cushions up on the furniture. If she jumps up on them I would get her and put her on the floor and tell her no jump. She will get the idea but it takes time. She is still young. Always give whatever your are correcting a name. No jump, no bark, no bite etc so they no why they are being repremanded. I remember someone once saying their dog thought his name was NO because she used the word so much. |

| charlie is scared of the computer duster spray. Everything he does something bad we spray it and say no...now he will look at us to see if we are going to spray the duster before doing anything he is not suppose to do. We don't spray it at him..we spray it into the keyboard. I think he is afraid of the noise. We can also make a similar noise and he will get scared. |
