My Tink is a morkie too (11 months). NO has never worked with her, but what does work (which we learned in her puppy kindergarten class) is "UH UH" real loud. It usually stops her instantly. She is also now starting to respond to OFF - again said loudly to startle her. As for after surgery, Tink was pretty groggy the first day, and the 2nd day she was either on my lap or in her crate. I was especially worried about her pulling her stitches out because we have another puppy (a 10 month old chihuahua) and they tend to play rough. The crating really helped. Plus, I think they are pretty good about knowing their limits. If Tink got going too much she would give herself a time out . . . I think she knew when to quit.

Hope some of that helps. Good luck to Cookie with her surgery. Hope she heals quickly.
