| Stationary Pee Pads Is there a pee pad out there that doesn't move around? Like one with a rubber backing, or sticky tape or something? I was just curious, as Maximus loves playing around with his. Also, I really want him to learn to go outside to potty, am I ruining him (or making it harder for myself?) by using the pee pads now that it is getting so chilly at night? Right now, as a pup, I don't mind him weeing on the pads, but when he gets bigger, won't he "make" more and won't it stink worse?

| We put our pads inside a doggie litter box (Petsmart) and use Gridlock Wee Wee pads. They are the best. My experience is that most pups prefer to go outside, way away from their living area. Mine LOVE to be outside under any circumstance. So, you're probably not doing any harm.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | You can buy a pee pad frame to hold it stationary. It's a square that snaps together. Personally if outdoors is where you really want him to go...I'd skip the pee pads. Two of mine are trained totally outdoors...Reggie came pee pad trained and I finally gave up to training him to go solely outdoors.

| I've got the pad holder as well as a frame that you tuck the corners of the pad into. They all seem to work well. I prefer to keep them on the pad because then I don't have to worry about accidents. Hot Rod stopped using the pad in the warm weather and all of a sudden started using it when it got colder. I have a pad in their pen, in the hallway between rooms and in my sunroom. This way we "go out" and they use it there. Hubby just told me this morning that he's got one in his garage to "go out" also. I still take them out and they go there too. No problems with that.

| I bought a holder at petsmart. It has a solid bottom so nothing can leak through and a frame that goes over it with two snaps one on each end , to hold the pee pad in place. I had the square snap together kind but hated having to put it together each time, plus it didn't have a bottom. It works well and since it's higher than the floor and she has to step up on it , she knows the difference. Arm and hammer makes a pee pad that hold odors well. I do change the pads about twice a day and then use a fresh one at night and I pick up the poo off it and flush it right away , so it doesn't smell. At night she tends to go more so it can get fuller and have a urine smell but as soon as I toss the pad , the smell is gone. She is only 2.5 lbs. full grown so Im not sure if a bigger dog would smell more. maybe you can use a pee pad in the house and outside so he knows to use it , and then slowly discontinue the use of the one inside then after a long while discontinue the use outside by making it smaller and smaller till he just goes outside every time . It's funny our other dog who we never pee pad trained doesn't even try to use Chloe's pee pads. She has sniffed them , but will only go outside, So I think they just learn whatever method you use.
