how do i *start* him on the pee pads?

i just took him out the playpen and put him on my lap to sleep because i couldnt take it anymore. he is breaking my heart. i picked him up to give him a little hug and kiss and he didnt give me kisses. he always gives me kissesss i feel like he doesnt love me as much anymore or something I feel so baddd

Lilly gets so upset with me sometimes because she doesn't get her way but 5 minutes later she seems to forget and is back to giving me kisses. The other night she had an accident and I got onto her... she was mad and pouted for a few minutes then gave me tons of kisses. He KNOWS he's getting to you haha, we're so weak sometimes

when i got riley 3 weeks ago he wasnt potty trained at all (he's 11 weeks now)! what i did was put a pad out and everytime he'd pee somewhere else me and my boyfriend would immediately pick him up and place him on the pad and then praise him a little. we'd just do that every time until he go used to being in that area of my room then eventually he'd go over there by himself! he'd miss the mat sometimes but he got the idea.. and now he just goes on the mat by himself

are you moving this pad around with you in the begining or are you taking him to the paper in a certain spot after he pees? Where is your pad located in relation to your house/apt and your dog. Bam Bam only has access to the living room and kitchen, and I do take him to the pad after he pees but I think he forgets that he peed by the time he gets there (less than 10 seconds I guess)

So far this is my favorite thread...

I am having the same issues with my new yorkie... He like your Bam Bam could start a little hellion club.. LOL - I am currently trying the place the pad in the area he likes best... and following him around until he is tempted (or starting) to releave himself of his little puppy dribbles..LOL ... then scooping him up and placing him on his pad... I also tried soaking up the pads a little with his scent as well... ( I am very hopeful that that will eventually help)... as this is my Alfie's first complete day at his NEW home I am thinking he will eventually get use to it...

I get the little dribbles about every hour or so... but at least 3 times he has gone on the pad so time will tell...

Now I just have to get my husband to say Potty Time... and then we will be on a roll~!

i have an apartment & he runs around in the living room sometimes when i'm out there but he mostly stays in my bedroom with me. i keep his pad in the same place at all times (which is by the bathroom door in my room) and i carry him to where its at after he pees. i keep it away from where his water and food are too. i read somewhere that if you keep moving the mat around different places sometimes they get really confused and start to go wherever they want. just be sure to praise him when you place him on the mat! some puppies learn faster than others, he'll get it eventually! keep your hopes up

you have a 4 week old baby in your house?? what happened to its mother?? is he drinking from a bottle?? i would not be able to handle a baby that young. 4 weeks is definetly too young to start potty training. I think most people/breeders start at 8 weeks. Bam Bam is behind by 5 weeks

Yeah I thought he would get confused. Thats why I kept the paper in one place. I tried moving it around today with him but that hasnt worked at all. I am just all strung out on the ready, waiting to pounce and put him on the paper whenever he sits. He keeps fooling me lol

BE AWARE.... Last night while in the process of catching one of the puppy dribbles... I snatched Alfie up to prance to the pee pad... and SPLAT~!! All over me he went... I guess thats what I get for being a Pee Pad runner... LOL

this morning i had a breakthrough!! he finally did the circles and I caught him in time to take him to the paper... and first he resisted but i guess he had to go so bad that he started the circles again and went poop!! yay!! phew. I thought id never be able to catch him now we need a pee breakthrough lol

When my daughter was a baby and started to potty herself it was the cutest thing... I can almost catch myself doing the same Pee Pee in the Potty dance once Alfie starts going on his pee pads on his own... LOL

Funny thought for sure~!... Pee Pee on the pee pad ...YAY~!... Pee pee on the pee Pad... YAY~! ~~ ~~ ..LOL
