| Pet stairs Freyja loves to run around and she isn't afraid of jumping up or down on any furniture. Problem is, I am worried about the stress on her knees. She doesn't seem to mind but I don't think this would be too good in the long run for her knees. Has anyone taught a yorkie to use little pet stairs to get off furniture? Does anyone know where you can get such a thing? I've looked around pet stores and not found anything. |

YT Addict | i tought odie. and i bought his steps at wal mart...i see them all over the place: wal mart, target, the mall, pet stores, etc. at first he wouldnt use them he would jump over them, i think he was afraid of them to be honest with you. but when he was a pup i had to teach him how to go up and down our house steps, we have 5 big ones. i would literally place each paw on the step as if it were him doing it...up and down we went for about a day or two then he did it on his own. then when i got the steps, i had to re-do all that stuff again but after about an hour of constant up and downs he got the hang of it. i have to use his steps for my bed. so there was no getting around that one =] |

| I bought Harley some steps at Target. When my bed was on the floor (no bed rails), she used the stairs to get in and out of bed at night if she was hungry or had to go to the bathroom without waking me up. Now that my bed is on a frame, the stairs are not high enough, so she just uses the stairs to get up into the window sill. It took a little while to get her totally comfortable with the stairs. And going up was easier than going down. I put a treat at the top or bottom to get her to run up or down. Now she does it with no problem. And I am looking for taller stairs. |

| My boyfriend built a ramp for our bed. Its basicly the yorkies trampoline durring the day I would say stairs or ramps are a great investment. You can get some really pretty ones if you look online. Dog Beds Dog Harnesses & Collars Dog Clothes & Gifts for Dog Lovers | In The Company of Dogs has a nice selection to choose from if you dont have a target or walmart close to you!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I have usesd stairs or ramps for all of mine and with having 4 different puppies in the past 3 years, they all learned within hours to use them and they never jump off the bed they only use the ramp and stairs by the window seating.

Missing Yoshi Everyday! Donating Member | target sells the pet stairs for around $15 which is plastic and i have gone thru 2 due to the humans not understanding that these are for the little doggies not them..and they attempt to climb the stairs big or small and break it...so I recently purchased a wooden one from petedge.com and it came today so i will have to test that out later...and it only cost $27 or so...but i agree a good investment for our furbabies...hehe

| pet stairs I recently purchased a set from doggysteps.com. It is a 3 step, however, you can purchase a kit to make a 4th step. My yorkie just uses them getting on and off of the sofa, so the 3rd step works for him. It cost me about $25, however, I saw some yesterday at Walgreens for $10. They are basically the same. They both hold up to 70 lbs. The training wasn't that hard either. I just placed treats on the steps and he went up and down them. Show him how it is done first by walking him up them. I recommend that every small dog have a set. |
