| ![]() I've had so much fun training my yorkie. He is sooo smart. At 8 weeks he learned to sit & lay with the help of a plastic clicker which I found at the petstore for about $3. Then gradually, as he would do movements I would attach a word to it and treat him. Like when he would lay his head down on his paw, I would say sleepy dog and treat him right away. Now at 11 months he is full of tricks and sometimes does a little trick combo routine which is too cute. Just to name a few: sit, stay, laydown, come, uppie, lets dance, high five (which is actually high ten), shake, leftie (shake with left hand), how are you (then he moans), bang bang, roll over, hello (and waves his hand over the hair in his eyes), and he just learned thank you last week (bow his head down toward the floor). He's easy to train because he knows he'll get a treat which is usually just dog food and lots of attention. |

| ![]() Cash is two years old and while we didn't train much last year, this year we are working hard. He is even going to be doing agility this year. He knows: Sit, Lay down, Dance, Jump, Up and Down, Kiss, Watch Out! (roll over - his James Bond move), High Five, Stay, Out of the Kitchen, In and Out. He totally loves training and will do anything for cheese!! I am planning to teach him Bow, Shake, Yawn, Speak and many more this year.

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | ![]() I just taught Eddie a fun one. He fetches a tissue out of the box when I sneeze. I started by rolling a tissue into a ball and tossing it for him while sneezing. He loves fetching a ball, so he picked that up pretty quick. I kept it up until he realized that a sneeze meant "go get it." Then I put the rolled up tissue on top of a box of tissues. Same thing. Finally, I stopped rolling it up and just had him grab a piece of tissue. He learned it real quick. I want to get to the point where we can put him in the middle of the room, and whoever sneezes gets the tissue.

| ![]() We got Sandy when he was almost 12 wks old. We taught him Sit and Down when he was 13 wks. We've had him for almost 2 months now and he has learned a several tricks. I was amazed because he learns fast. He knows Sit, Down, Shake (both left and right), Roll Over, High Five, 'Bring me the ball' (he'll go and fetch the ball), Let's go. I'm still trying to teach him to Stay but this is quite a challenging one. Sandy will do anything for his treats. Sometimes when I ask, 'Do you want your Piskoty (that's the brand name of the ladyfinger biscuits we've here)?' He'll come to me, jumps and sits still, he starts to go down and roll over before commands. Of course he doesn't get anything! He'll only get his treats if he follows the commands ![]() ![]() |

| ![]() Bella knows a lot of tricks too. She knows, sit, high five, give paw, dance, roll over, sitty pretty, show me, and whisper. I feed the birds our of my kitchen window on to a neighbor's roof. She loves for you to pick her up to see the birds. She would scare them away by barking so I kept whispering to her and telling her to whisper so she didn't scare them. Now she makes that real growling sound, it's cute! I also taught Bella in one day how to ring bells on the doors when she wants to go outside. I too am looking for some new tricks to teach her. |
