| Most males pee with their leg in the air. Are you planning on getting him neutered? If so he most likely wont mark in your house

| Most likely not. There are exceptions when some do though

| Mine is not neutered yet and he pee with a leg in the air but he doesn't mark in the house. Your yorkie can be trained not to mark with or without neutering. What I do is put a bottle in the litter box and he aims at it while he lifts up his leg.

| How old is he now? The earlier you get males neutered, the less likely they are to start marking. Before six months is ideal, but if he's older, I'd still get him done asap. Even if he's not marking now doesn't mean he won't start later on. Often the less desirable male traits like marking don't start until they are more mature, around two years old or even a little older. Certain things can trigger marking in a dog who has never marked before like bringing another dog into the house, even just for a visit. |

| Melvin has always peed in "tripod stance," recently he has started putting two feet up (ambitious isn't he?), one in the air and the other against whatever he's peeing on. Getting him fixed will help a little in the marking, as long as you do it early on. |

Senior Yorkie Talker | We just got a 3yr old neutered and he was lifting his leg. After the fixing we have noticed that he doesn't lift his leg as much and is getting even better over time. The vet said the neutering should help but doesn't always.
