| did I do that right? My puppy just pooped inside. I caught him three seconds after doing it, but did not say anything to him because I didn't catch him actually in the act. I just went over and cleaned it up. Did I do that right? Or did I catch him soon enough that I should have said something? |

| In my opinion you did right. I know that 3 seconds doesn't seem like much, but to a little one, it can be. If I miss the "act", I usually just look a little disgusted and unhappy but don't address the puppy directly. They are so quick to learn the difference between the joy I show when they potty in the right place versus the ignoring they get when I find potty in the wrong place.

| Yes. Ditto to the last post. You were correct in your response. I found the long, retracktable leash the best training methold for outside potty. Also, many many trips outside! One of the problems I encountered at first was that the pup would do his business in the house even after he went outside. I did not wait long enough for him to finish. I would scoop him up with lots of praise only to find that I was doing so too fast! Good luck with the housebreaking. |

| Zoie usually knows after I see it she knows she did wrong. I usually just tell her bad girl go outside to potty. And pick it up. I can always tell as she will put her ears down and I know she did something wrong.
