My Yorkie DESTROYS her toys - ideas? - Page 3 - YorkieTalk.com Forums

I have one that is a year old and he does the same thing. The Kong Wubba he tears to tiny shreds, the Kong tennis balls end up with no fuzz on them and all over my house and the rubber squeaky toys last no time. He loves to chase balls and I found a baby toy that he will chase all over the house. I figured if it was good enough for an infant surely it would be ok for him to play with. So far so good. Had them a few months and they still look like new. I attached a link to them but I think I found them at Wal-Mart and they were maybe $6 or $7.

We just bought Jaeger a kong Cozy-i know one person said their dog tore it up but it seems pretty durable-we'll see how it goes.

I haven't found a toy that my Bolt cannot destroy! However I did find something that he loves. When my pantyhose are no longer wearable, I tie them in large knots until they are about a foot long. My babies play fetch and tug of war with them, and so far they have held up. When they need washed, I just throw them in the washer with the rest of the laundry.

Jasmin is really good with her toys. Once in a while i will have to patch up one or two holes. We get her only clearance stuff animals. We got her a kong rubber toy and she hates it.

I would be careful of nylabones. Indestructible though they may seem; many a pooch has gone to the vet to discover balls of nylabone inside tummy.

Oh no! I recently gave my puppy Nylabones! The package says they are edible! Will never do that again! What did they do to ge t the nylabones out, did your pup need surgery?

The best things I've found are the pieces of stag horn that you can buy. Some of the pet shops sell them here so think they're probably easily available in other countries.
They last my Yorkies forever, though the non edible Nylabones ( there are different types, some are edible) do too.

Now I just need someone to recommend something my Skyes can't eat

They eat The black Kongs, the very largest Nylabones, you name it, they've eaten it.
Someone did suggest I begged a length of sewer pipe next time I pass a construction site

My puppy is six months old and he does the same thing. He has not yet destroyed the Kong toy so maybe give that one a shot.

both Lily and Taka are toy destroyers! the only toys they dont seem to tear to pieces is the bones for teething, Nylabone is the company...i dont remember what they are called but on the package it says "for heavy chewers" lol i buy the medium sized ones and it seems to last a few months.

The Dura Chew Nylabones are the only ones I will use. They cannot ingest them!

I don't know about their toys, but we have two of their beds (the cheap nature nap ones) and they have been through tons of washing and drying cycles (on hot water and regular heat) and they still look very similar to day 1...lighter colored from wash fading, but the structure and "innards" haven't shifted or bunched up from washings whatsoever.

That all being said, I wouldn't doubt their toys to be extremely durable as well...we might try some, as we have a very heavy chewer in this house, too.

The beds I bought because I just needed a tiny bit more money spent in order to get free shipping on their food and treats, so I just randomly added something - so glad I did.

Hi,
My boy J.R. is a heavy chewer. I find the only things that work is getting him porkhide rolls that are large. Don't get the mini ones or ones that have tied knots. I supervise his play with these rolls. he gets tired out and leave them alone and later return to resume his chewing. Sometimes you can find them at the local Dollar Tree.

My dog take a bit of time to chew them up since they are very hard.

Some one mentioned the KONG toys - they are the only ones my dog has not totally destroyed. I saw a chewtoy at PETCO that might be the ultimate - it is made out of a firehose. I discovered that my dog loves to chew on baby carrots. I think it helps with the teething.
