I have just read about the toy destroyers - Molly is another one of those steel jaws Yorkies. I can't count how many toys she has ruined. I do not let her have the toy once she starts pulling out the stuffing. She just loves it when we bring home a new toy and just prances around the family room for about a half hour before we can even touch it. Then she gets busy and tears it apart. She does have very clean, healthy teeth. That is the good part! Dental expenses can be very expensive. Molly is about 18 months and not teething. MUST find a durable toy for her for Christmas.

yorkie toys my yorkie is 10 months old and shredded her toys, gutted the ones with stuffing and loves to be chased to get the stuffing from her. she loves plastic if she can get away with it but usually spits it out instead of swallowing it. I have resorted to getting her quality rawhides from the feed store and getting bones from the meat market the roundsteak bones. I bake these bones at 200 so there is no blood about one hour. these have left her less demanding in the evening hours.

I love bullies, the only problem is that smell. But it's because are more natural. You can get them at pet store. Petco, pet smart but they are more expensive that way. I get them a costco for about $25 for 12 of those and I cut them in small sticks with a saw. You can give it to them but the are long. Dolly she loves them and it actually help her to keep clean teeth. By the way price range from $4-10 for a single one depends on the length. I hope this helps other members

I'm so relieved to know my Sophie (5 yrs old) isn't the only one who does this! She's gotten so good at destroying her toys that she can de-fluff and de-squeak one in about 10 minutes or less - depending on the size of the toy. It's a little frustrating to watch her utterly destroy a brand new toy, but she's not a fan of Kongs or any rubber-type of toy, so I let her be since she seems to enjoy it. I think she really just likes the challenge of de-squeaking a toy. She has a look of accomplishment afterward, haha. Thankfully, she will still play with her murdered toys despite not having any innards left, so it's not a waste of money.

Do you mind if I ask if you walk Sophie? The reason that I ask that is bc dogs get bored and find their own distractions specially small ones. Dolly is only 7 months but she goes for a walk and she loves to look at the window plus she play a lot with toys but she doesn't destroy them. You can but this blue ball for treats and peanut Butter it's about $19 but it's great for their teeth too. There are 3 different sizes the medium or small are the best size for yorkies. I put mine in the freezer with peanut butter and she loves it. I'll pick up the toy after a little while. This may help.

Sophie gets walked as often as I can, but it's not often enough. I'm disabled so it's not easy for me to get out each day. But I do my best and try to take her with me everywhere she's allowed. She LOVES to go "bye bye" and be out and about with my mom and I. She's great on a leash and with people. But I do know she gets bored and figured that factors into why she destroys her toys. She loves a task and de-squeaking a toy gives her something to do. Regarding the blue ball treats toy, unfortunately, she doesn't like any Kong-type toy and hates peanut butter, haha. She's such a finicky little girl!
