| Help getting her to play... We just got our new baby, Oktober back in November from a rescue. Since we've had her, we've been slowly introducing toys to her. We can't do that too well considering we have 3 chihuahuas who absolutely love to play with their toys. But she will have nothing to do with them. She first acted terrified of toys, now she just ignores them all together. I want her to play and have fun --- but its like she doesn't know how. We've tried everything. Our other little girls even try to get her to play with them -- and still, nothing. We've had her for about a month and a half so I know things are still new. But if anyone has any suggestions about how I can get her interested in toys, please let me know! Of course this is no really big deal -- I would just like for her to know she can have fun with toys! |

| I'm not sure if the same thing will happen to your pup, but for Scruffs he wouldn't play with toys at first. Even his old mom said he never played with toys. Well, he loves them now. It would just be once in a while I'd catch him with a toy, but now he mostly loves them. Sometimes he gets in the non-toy mood though. It took him a few months to get comfortable with me, and to find the toy he loves! He never had toys where he lived.

| My Bella was the same way (adopted her in April)- it took about 5-6 months until she learned to play with toys. What really helped is when we adopted her brother Baci (in July)-He taught her to play. I would guess that over time as she becomes more comfortable in your home and realizes she is safe and loved now, she will learn about playing from your 3 chihuahuas. Thank you for rescuing! Your baby is very lucky to have you!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I got Pixie at 13 months and now she is 4 and she very rarely plays with toys. The other 2 will take a bunch of toys out and play and she will come and sit on my lap. My one that is 4/12 loves toys and plays like a puppy. So I think sometimes if not raised with toys they either take longer to enjoy them or are past the toy stage and never really play that much.

| It seems like everyone's pup is the same way! I think they just need to settle in, and get comfortable with you.

| Maybe if you bought Oktober her own little toy and only put it with her, in her crate, etc. so maybe she could bond with that 1 item. (?) Don't know if this will do anything but maybe she's a little overwhelmed with "their" toys and scent on them. Worth a try. Good luck.

| Is she playing more? Gypsy has never really played with toys. We bought her some and when we would pick them up and stack at the bottom of the nightstand shelf, she would take them down and pile them up in the floor but that was it. She is almost 4 now and has never really played with toys. She just has not been into it. I think some just have that personality.
