I'm not sure if the same thing will happen to your pup, but for Scruffs he wouldn't play with toys at first. Even his old mom said he never played with toys. Well, he loves them now. It would just be once in a while I'd catch him with a toy, but now he mostly loves them. Sometimes he gets in the non-toy mood though. It took him a few months to get comfortable with me, and to find the toy he loves! He never had toys where he lived.
