![]() I just read about all the rawhide stories. I had bought my new 8 week puppy the mini bone with the ends on and he loved it. Since I read that story about the end unravelling and being swallowed, I have just taken away the two she had ![]()

![]() they are chews that are 100% digestable and i think good for their teeth. mainly they keep these little ones busy busy busy.. they come in 6 inches or 12 inches long.. i get the 12 inches though and i buy in bulk. they are made from bulls penis.. lol.. and some of them stink really bad, but i dont care about the smell.. as long as lexi is happy, im happy. try searching bully sticks where you can find info on them and who sells them on yt. good luck.

![]() i give the dogs the rawhide bones not the chips because the bones are more challenging. especially the big ones. they dot get much because its too difficult so its fun watching them try. i monitor them and throw out the bones when they get too small.

![]() I give Kaia little Dingos. But, she only likes the stuff they are wrapped in and will chew it until the meaty stuff is gone. I only give one to her if I carefully observe her and if it gets soft anywhere, immediately I take it away. I'm going to look into the Bull sticks so she can have something less dangerous.

![]() This is why all toys and rawhides have warning labels on them. A yorkie can even choke on a toy if you're not careful. The only type of rawhide I give Benji are rawhide flips shaped liked bones and he only eats them until the flavor comes off, then I just throw them away. For the majority of the time, Benji is supervised if eating rawhide or playing with a toy. Last edited by BenjiBoo; 05-22-2009 at 03:43 AM.

![]() I used to give rawhide sticks and those little dingo things to my dog, too, but then I found out about how they don't really digest. My problem with nylabones and other similar products is that my pup finishes them too quickly. Plus, every brand I found was made in China. While I know I can't know where all the dog food ingredients come from or other things, at least I can avoid those. (I did make sure my dog food was never on the fda warning list, though. Better safe than sorry!) I started giving pig ears to my pup and she loves those. Her breath only smells a little afterward. I haven't managed to find anything on the internet wrong with those yet. With all this talk of bully sticks, my interest is piqued. What's the best brand that doesn't smell horrendous and how often should you give your pup one? (mine is about 4 pounds and a year old)

![]() im sooo glad i decided to read this thread! about a week ago i had bought a pack of those beef dingos for charlie and he loves them bc it gives him something hard to chew on... well hes popped the ends off of one so i threw it away and thankfully nothing has happened but after reading this i took the new one he had and threw it as well as the rest of them away... ive previously heard about bully sticks and was interested... so while i was at petco this evening getting charlie his food i went over to the rawhide section and got a 5" braided bully stick for charlie to try out... he loves it just as much as those other dingos... all i can say is no more rawhide for charlie... so ![]()

![]() I give mine pig ears and I watch them. They only get them at night and only for one hour before bed. (So they can calm down from running all over). I have never saw them get a big piece off and they don't get all rubbery and slimy like a rawhide. Beverly ![]() ![]()

![]() I do give mine the rawhide bones, big enough to fit her mouth so she can chew but not eat right away. When the bone gets too unwarped, then it goes in the trash. I don't let her get to the point of biting tiny bits off. My vet dosn't like the pigs ears or other pig parts, says they can give diarhea, but didn't have that problem with the one she got. I try to get treats, bones made in the USA. I agree with Benjiboo, and anyone else that belives in saftey for their dogs, gotta check everything they put in their mouth and make sure it is still safe or it goes in the trash once it becomes over chewed or nearly so.
