| Paul O'Grady Did you watch this week's episode? Thought it was so sad about the little Yorkie, Tyler. |

| Oh yes, I LOVE his programme, just wish it was longer....doesn't that half hour wizz by?!!? That poor little boy Tyler - he'd just got happy and completely settled, then that happened, I felt so sorry for his new mum too I couldn't really understand why his 'first mum' gave him up to Battersea either...or why Paul O'Grady didn't take little Mimi home to join all his other pets.... | I know, it was such a shame. I half expected him to end up with Mimi. She's so gorgeous! I bet he takes something home before the series ends, who could resist?? Isn't he brilliant though? Couldn't imagine anyone better they could have got to present it, you're with him all the way. |

| Yes, he's the perfect host....I wasn't really very keen on him until this series - now I agree with you, there's no-one better! He has such empathy with the dogs - what a lovely, kind man he is! I was very surprised in the last series that he didn't take home that white Boxer...they were so loved up! I was actually born in Battersea (not the Dogs Home!!! ) and our family used to avoid the Dogs Home like the plague - we KNEW we couldn't resist those appealing faces. I've only ever been there once, in adult-hood, and could have come home with at least 20....!!! Keep enjoying! Sally + Harry x |

Senior Yorkie Talker | Just watched it on sky+, how sad was that, I can't believe someone would give a dog up after so many years, my heart was pouring when they were trying to put him in the kennel, I could never no matter what happened in my life do that to any of my babies, so so sad to find someone who would have loved him forever more and only have that for 2 weeks, really hope the stress could not have caused his problem

I wish his programme was on every week, throughout the year - think we need something like this to highlight the need for re-homing/donations etc. I quite often walk Harry in Battersea Park, there are always a lot of volunteers walking there, with their 'charges' on leads, and the dogs wear little jackets saying something like "I come from Battersea Dogs Home, and I'm looking for a new home"...it makes my heart sad. Thank goodness for all those wonderful volunteers though.... Sally x | |

Senior Yorkie Talker | It should be on more often agree with that although its so sad in parts, it's also seeing the happy endings that I like the most. The volunteers are great, couldn't do it myself I would end up taking them all home lol, well... all the smaller dogs

| Me, too! The only thing I find a bit sort-of odd about the programme, is the way they make out the re-homing process to be.... They make it look like you just bowl up there with a lead, and take away whatever dog takes your fancy....it really isn't like that at all! There are really, really strict criteria (and rightly so!). For instance, a friend of my daughter's mother wanted to adopt from Battersea - she is house-bound, but has a garden. In her late 40's, a lovely lady. She got as far as choosing the dog she wanted, had the home visit, and they declined her!!! Apparently the dog needed to 'go out for walks, a garden isn't enough', and that was that!! So what did she do? Well, of course she went and bought a puppy from a breeder....isn't that nuts, when she could have given such a wonderful life to a little stray?!!? Don't know whether you've looked at their website www.battersea.org.uk but there's a little girl Yorkie called Cassie on there at the moment....!!!! Sally x |

Senior Yorkie Talker | That is crazy... Don't know about the process, the cat and dog shelter in Newcastle I'm sure is far easier, from what I've heard, in a way tho been too strict, does not always work in the favour of the dog.. you would have thought they could have worked with the lady in the fact I'm sure she would have someone who could walk the dog, sometimes, and small dogs really a big garden is a good adventure in its self lol The weather is lovely up here, hope it is where you are too My sister is away for a week to Norfolk with her two little pups, its there first holiday so pleased the weather is nice. Mine are loving the warm, dry weather, they are all in and out of the garden all day

Norfolk...oh I LOVE Norfolk! The 3 of us spent a week on the Broads last year...stayed self-catering in a windmill in Horning, hired a boat, took off every day on some new adventure with a picnic...amazing! Harry was actually very good, keeping sentry duty on us - until he decided to follow me as I was jumping off to tie the boat up Thank goodness he had his harness and long lead on, else he would have been very squashed aaargh!!! Senior Yorkie Talker | Oh sounds lovely, good job, they do like to keep us our toes. I'm not sure where she is but they have a tourer caravan, bought her 2 of those 15ft webbing leads so they can enjoy running about but stay safe, they are still so young and easily distracted away from you by something that's more interesting

| They certainly do - like ducks, herons, swans.... That's what we were using, love those long training lead-type things. If you ever fancy a 'different' type of break, it might be worth you having a look at the windmill www.horningholidayhomes.co.uk/windmill it is so quirky, and dog-friendly! Plus there's a really lovely pub up the road, on the water, to save you cooking - dog friendly too, woo hoo! Where abouts in Northumberland are you? I took my mum up to your part of the Country for a holiday a few years back, we went to Bamburgh (sp?) Holy Island and Seahouses etc....am I in the right part of the Country?!!? Or am I getting confused in my old age...!!! Sally x |

Senior Yorkie Talker | Oh yes Swans can be a little feisty.. we have a lake not far from here and we have to keep well clear lol. Yes will have look, it's difficult with having 4, that I do get upset about it because my 4 would make less "mess" than 2 large dogs, so think its unfair, that's why my sister bought the caravan. Those leads are great, Merlin is the only one I trust fully off the lead, we are lucky to be near a beach that we let them off, I feel they are more safe as you have good view ahead. We live just outside Morpeth, it's about 35 miles south of Bamburgh, but still along the coast route, your memory serves you right
