| Welshmoor Puppies have new kennel Hi I have discovered a fantastic kennel bought on Amazon, which looks like a proper little Alpine Chalet. It took just over an hour to build despite it being supplied with less than helpful instructions. It came from a company called 'Tested On Animals' and was very promptly despatched. I wanted somewhere in the garden for the puppies to play in safety and have somewhere dry/warm/cool for them to relax. My partner and I designed a puppy compound and built it over two days. All that remains is to get some camoflague netting to cover the whole area so that the larger birds of prey, of which there are Buzzards and a Goshawk in the vacinity, cannot swoop down and take the puppies. This puppy compound will be very useful to keep Caro and Rhia safe while I am away visiting clients. I hope they will play happily together and not make it their task to try to tunnel out of it. Does anyone have any training tips to deter puppies from digging? If I leave them longer than 20 mins unsupervised in the garden, they dig the lawn up!

Donating YT 10K Club Member | That is a wonderful house! I love the porch. For digging I was told by a trainer to place their feces inside each and every hole and recover. They usually return to the same spots. If they didn't...in any new hole...same procedure. Eventually she said they think....this entire yard smells like...poop. And stop digging. I used the above with a golden retriever and it was successful. Good luck and hope they love their new home away from home.

| Ok ... ... but I don't really want my garden to smell like an enormous toilet! I live on a farm and there are enough disgusting smells in the vacinity already! You have quite a bunch there to look after - do you have any siblings and therefore sibling rivalry? My two little girls now 17 weeks old have had a couple of serious fights and it's alarming to think that they would want to harm each other. Can you offer any advice on this problem? I don't want to have to sort this one out later when they have their adult teeth!

Donating YT 10K Club Member | My dog didn't dig enough holes for it to smell. Not to mention...I kept refilling the holes and covering it back up. I don't have siblings...but that doesn't mean we don't have sibling rivalries here sometimes. Ramsey is the oldest at 2.5 years...then Reese...1.5 and Reggie who is 6 months. Their play is really rambuctious...complete with growls, nips, barks, and bites. It's how they play and sounds much rougher than it is. Sometimes Ramsey is not interested in Reggie's puppyness and she lets him know this. I don't see the behavior as aggressive...it's the only method she has. It's much how their mother's corrected their behavior. I have witnessed real fights between Ramsey and Reese...I am quite aware of the difference. I break it up...but honestly...minutes later they have both forgotten the entire ordeal. No one is mad at anyone. Females...sometimes have a problem getting along. They are usually more dominant and independent than the males. It may improve if they are both spaded. I have friends who have females...and each of them has told me...their females fight. So there...I wrote a book without any real answer for you. Try asking in the general forum...or pm yorkierose. She breeds and has dealt with the female problem before.

| I love your new kennel. I'm curious as to what others do with the dogs digging away I live in an apartment right now but will be buying something in the next year and worry about that. Also, my mother in law has a yorkie who is from the same litter as Romeo and they get pretty rough. But somehow I think they learn their limits. See if things improve overtime. I'm not sure if having two sisters is different than having two brothers. It would be interesting to see what others have to say.

| Sibling rivalry ... I am working hard to try to break the fixation they have on each other, on the advice of a man who trains working Spaniels. He suggested instead of doing things together I should do things with them individually so that the bond they have with me is stronger than the bond they have with eachother. Makes sense ... so they are taken on walks and played with separately for the meantime until I see an improvement. Certainly the signs are that Rhia is bonding very well with me because I do notice that she has begun to ignore Caro on occasions, preferring to be on her own or with the oldest dog Pepsi who is 10 years old. It's all so very interesting and challenging ... I'm loving it.
