Canada Members Welcome Jane & Sweetie! How old is Sweetie? She is adorable and I love her coloring! It is fun watching Ginger change everyday - she is getting more gray all the time, especially on her head! She was only 3 mos old yesterday so it will be interesting to see how she looks in another 3 mos. Have fun with this site, I am really enjoying all the wonderful posts! :aimeeyork |

Have traveled across your beautiful country from east to west many times and love it there. Hope you love YT |

Hi from a fellow bc'er.I've been in Calgary for a year and have had enough !!We're moving back to the island in July.Regarding putting your dog down below on the plane I wouldn't do it.There are alot of people who do and have never had a problem but there have also been many deaths(look on the internet)If your dog is small enough that the kennel can go under the seat then your dog can fly with you however the dog needs to be able to stand inside the kennel. |

Heh, I'm actually Jane's brother Sean. I have Sheila. She's 15 months now and weighs a little over 3 pounds. Sweetie and Sheila come from the same breeder. I live in downtown Toronto (King Street West area) and my little fur baby can be seen daily at Umbrella Pet Services (www.umbrellapetservices.ca) where she goes to doggie daycare everyday and where she is pretty much the store mascot :) . Here are a few pictures of her included a couple with Sweetie at Jane and my Dads. The rest are either at my place or her daycare. http://web.mac.com/taxicreator/iWeb/...rkie_Talk.html I think I was one of the early ones to come to yorkietalk and was the first donating member :) . This site was a great help when I first got Sheila, I can't begin to explain the warmth and support I received. Sheila and I have settled down nicely so I only come by here once in a blue moon now. For yorkie related issues though this where I come first! |

Hi There Hi: Welcome!! :D Where are you in Ontario...I am in Oakville and have a little guy, just 5 months old...his name is Fletcher and he is "the best dog in the world"...present company included of course!! Fletcher is the first Yorkie I have ever had and I am hooked. He is so lovable and loyal. Looking forward to sharing stories, Kim (aka Fletcher's Mom) :animal-pa |
Hi , I'm TRacy , a volunteer with Canadian Yorkshire terrier Rescue, and I live in Aurora!!Welcome. |
Hi everyone...I'm Val and I'm from Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. I'm new here (this is my second post) and a new yorkie mom. Topher came into our lives about a month ago and we haven't been the same since!! :) He's 22 weeks old and a big boy at 7.5lbs. He's just the sweetest thing and just a typical little boy. We lost our darling mixed breed terrier in January to pancreatitis and my heart was shattered. I knew I had to get a pup to bring life back into this silent house so after asking my vet and groomer for their recommendations (both said yorkie) I searched and researched until I found Topher. He's certainly brought lots of laughter and smiles into our home! I have M.S. and am at home all day, so it's wonderful to have a companion here with me while the kidlets are at school and hubby's at work. It sure is like having a two year old child around!! I'm glad to be here and glad to see lots of other canucks! I know I'll be here lots trying to learn as much as I can about yorkies! Val |
Carseat---must have 2 Attachment(s) Hi there, Sweetie and I have been very busy these last few weeks. I was in an accident  five weeks ago. My friend was driving and he had a seizure. The truck was totalled but we were not hurt. Thank God , I did not have Sweetie at the time. My friend has been very sick and I'm spending all my free time looking up stuff about his sickness on the Web (dial-up). He had a stroke on Tuesday, scary. :aimeeyork Sweetie has been acting very different with him since the first seizure. She sits beside him or on him and just stairs. She also is giving lots of kisses and is very sucky with him, (more then before). Do you think Sweetie know something we don't? I went and got a car sit for Sweetie. See has her own seat now, with a seat belt. She didn't think to must of it at first but she is getting to like it. |
She is reacting like Gioia with my brother . From the day he came back from heart surgery , she don't leave him for a minute and come to tell me if there is something wrong with him . |

Jane, I'm convinced that dogs have an inner sense for things like that....much more than we humans. I had a terrier mix that just passed away in January...she was so intuned with me and my illness (I have M.S.) and she absolutely knew when I was having a bad day or increased pain. She stuck by me like glue when I was feeling rough and always snuggled closer to my legs when I was having spasms there. They definitely can sense things. I love the carseat!! I'm looking around here for something similar but not having much luck. I found one online that I'm thinking of buying but it's very expensive. I'm so sorry about your accident...you're so lucky that no one was hurt! I hope your friend is feeling better soon. |
Jane wow, I didn't know about the stroke! Hit me up on AIM tomorrow when I'm at work. I'm in meetings in the morning but I'll be free to chat in the afternoon. I hope everything is ok. Love ya, Sean (her baby brother) |
Hey there. My name is Cindy and my furbaby is Gracie. We are here in Newfoundland. I didn't noyice if there were any other newfies on here. My Gracie is 3 lbs 8 oz. and she is my heartbeat. |

I have scene (on TV) dogs turning-in when there owners are about to have a seizer. :aimeeyork Sweetie has been a little quite and not eating as well, since the stroke my friend had. I'm hoping we will all feel better in a few days. Having someone that is sick and not knowing what is wrong, is scary Val-Topher's mom, my sister had bought a car seat last year and I really like it. I wanted to get one, but she had got it in Ottawa, (she lives in Montreal). After the accident I was feeling down so I thought I would run into Pet Smart for a look around. Shopping for my little Sweetie always cheers me up. I SAW IT, the car seat my sister had bought and the same price $29.99, with tax it works out to $34.00. It worked so well for Sweetie that I went back and got my Mom one, she has a Yorkie too. I put it in the back seat, right where a :animal36 child car seat would go. It is a “must got” item: Pet Lookout Car Booster Seat, made by Outward Hound ……found it at Pet Smart. This is Sweetie's in the seat. I tried it in the front seat the first time. |
Carseat Hi all - I haven't been on in a while, but when I saw the post I wanted to check out what kind of carseat it was. I bought this exact carseat last summer for my little guy. I love it because he can see out the windows and is still safely harnessed in without crawling all over me. Some people think it's crazy, some people think it's cute. But I don't care what anyone thinks! I really need to take a pic of him in it though. Thanks for the post! |
Hello there, thanks for the heads up on the car seat. I have an english bulldog that was in the car with me when I was rear-ended about 5 years ago, he went flying up to the front seat. He wasn't hurt but he has NEVER liked the car since! (Just try getting a 65lb english bulldog in the car who doesn't want to go!) Anyway, after that I got him a seatbelt that just clips on his harness and then into the cars seatbelt. It is not made for little dogs - made for large dogs for sure - I just could not imagine a yorkie in one, so I have been looking around for something for our baby yorkie who is coming home in May. So thanks for the tip, I think I will go out this afternoon to check them out! :D |
