Hello my dear! I am realy sorry but I am from Windsor Ontario not from Hamilton. Sorry dear! |
Hi Madison, I'm in Oakville...not too far away, and my girl is about 1.5 years old. I would be willing to try and get together in Burlington at some point but the summer is rather busy with school/cottage/vacation travel. Did you get down to T.O for Woofstock? It was a lot of fun, very busy and lots of clothing. There is a winter one happening in November. I don't really do a lot of clothing other than winter/fall coats, so I'm afraid I don't have any other suggestions...sorry. Marg |
i would love to get them together to play. i do have a truck and he loves going for drives so it wouln't be a problem to meet up. you can add me as a friend and we can make plans when you aren't busy. |
Hey everyone.....I am from Brampton...someone earlier was asking about clothing? Have you tried Walmart?? They have adorable clothes alot of the time!!I also noticed that Giant Tiger is picking up on some items also.....I find that Petsmart is crazy for prices as is the rest of anything in petstores!!!lol Good Luck shopping!!:)) |
Hi everyone - we have two Yorkies, Darwin is 7 lbs and will be two in a few months. Mabel is 7 months and last time she was weighed she was 3 lbs 5 oz. We're in BC on the beautiful (and so far, Supertanker free) west coast.:):thumbup: |
Hello. Bella and I live in New Brunswick. Bella is 6 months old and the love of my life. Isn't this YT great. So much great info for new and old yorkie lovers |
so pleased I found the canadian section ! I love YT Hey fellow canadians...I am Abbie from the province of New Brunswick , Canada... Yorkies have ruled my home for 30 plus years now :) I am down to one at the moment, she is 2 years old, 4 pounds....Sophia Marie :) I also have a border collie rescue..... As I said over in the U.S. section, when I win the lottery I plan to fill a home with yorkies and staff ! lol hugs Abbie |
I recently lost my precious yorkie and maybe in the future would love to get another, anyone recommend any great breeders in Ontario? |
Mollysmom....you really should find another yorkie baby. I sure can tell you who to stay away from...... |
Sure would like to know, have had my share of shady breeders too! |
Hi MollysMom, I see the date of your loss is very recent....oh how my heart goes out to you :( I've owned and raised yorkies for well over 35 years now, and I found that although we can never replace any baby, a new little soul can help us heal. Years ago, I ordered a pup from a lady by the name of Donna Powell, with Braecliff Kennels. Make a long story short... I paid HUGE amount of money for a female yorkie, had it flown here to the maritimes, and within 27 days it died. I contacted Donna, and she said in order to get my money refunded I would have to pay for an autopsy , which I did... In short to make a long story short.....after the vet gave her a full report (another cost to me) she told me she didn't have the money to pay me for refund, and said she could send me money each month....which did happen for a while. In short I figure I was out well over 800.00, and when I confronted her about it, she claimed her husband left me and she could not finish paying me. Funny thing is, she never stopped her business after her husband left....and I still see her on the web. I am saying 800.00 loss although with autopsy ,vet bill, airfare, etc, was no doubt lots more. So thats ONE to steer clear of :) Are you planing to purchase another baby soon ? warmest regards and big hug abbie |
H Abbie, yes my loss was very recent and it real hard and quiet around here without her. She was very bonded to me, as she had quite a few medical issues over the years, which in turn made us very attached and close. I purchased her at a pet store, a big no-no I know, but felt sooo bad for her there,I felt I rescued her and have no regrets for sure. I just no longer go to pet stores with live pets, and totally dicourage any who do. Molly was my needy one, very vocal for her meals and treats and walks and would sulk til I come home. My other 2 are very independant, and rarely make a peep unless someone comes to the door, which is good but makes for an unusually quiet home while we grieve. Thanks for the info i just went on their site this a.m. glad I didnt enquire. I am looking for another baby yorkie cause of the age of my other 2. One is 9 1/2 and the other 7. I can't bear to be without a yorkie so I want to start looking.I would have lots but our city bylaw is 3. I'm hoping Im not subconciuously looking to replace my Muffin, I know I cant but the void is so much! (As I currently can't see my screen :*( |
Sorry for your loss Mollysmom. I too lost my dear little one just recently and can't bear the emptiness without her. She had medical problems too so we were also very attached to each other. Princess was, and is still, constantly on my mind. I live with my elderly Mom and she and I have already decided to get another pup as we can't handle not having a little friend here to love. It certainly won't replace our Prin but I'm sure she will have a special place in our heart too as time goes by. We're from Alberta so I can't help you with breeders. I'm getting mine from a lady 2 hrs away and this is only her 2nd litter. Our Princess was rescued off the street and was already 4 when I found her. She was a challenge medically but in every other way she was just a perfect best friend. Both Princess and the new pup are silky terriers. :) |
Hey there, So sorry about your loss. I got my yorkie through a great rescue located in the Mississauga area of Ontario. There are certainly lots of good breeders around, but unfortunately my girl did not come from one. Although I have had no real health concerns, I wouldn't recommend her breeder as she did end up in rescue when her original owner had a life altering event, the breeder wouldn't take her back to re-home. A sin as far as I'm concerned...but certainly my lucky day, because she is the greatest dog!! My first thought would be to start with the Dogs in Canada website, and check out the individual breeders listed. Although I can't remember the name off the top of my head, my girl was bred in Orangeville Ontario, with a breeder whose web site looks pretty good...so after you have checked them out, and checked them out again...I would post once more to see if anyone has heard either good or bad about them. There are a few Ontarians on the site, so they might help you screen possible candidates. If you are interested in going the rescue route...I recommend Happy Tails rescue out of Mississauga...I know the people involved personally, and they not only really care that the dogs get a great home...they are up front and honest with you about the background of all their dogs...to the best of their knowledge...and if it doesn't work out, insist that you bring the dogs back to them. As in most rescue, sometimes the dogs are older and have medical issues...and sometimes, through no fault of their own, they are put into rescue, due to family break-up or other unforseen circumstances. Good luck which ever route you choose. I know Muffin will keep a paw in, and lead the right dog to you at the right time! |

Thanks everyone for your thoughts, I know a new little one will never replace my Molly, but I am going to start looking for a new baby soon! |
Yes, she is in business because I considered buying from her just a few months ago when I got my little guy before buying him else where - I never actually met with her. |
Sorry, who were you referring to as still being in business?:aimeeyork |
LOL, I'm brand new here so I did not realize that my message would fail to be posted directly under the comment I read before :) It was in regards to the Donna breeder who didn't return the money after the beautiful pup died 27 days after coming home :((( & my word Molly\'smom - I am so sorry to hear about yours :( HUGE hug. |
Thankyou, it is still real hard to think about my life without her, I miss her every minute of the day! There will never be another MOLLY muffin for sure......I did find an awesome breeder in Ajax, Vickilyn Yorkies, and will be getting a baby girl at the end of May, beginning of June. It sure is not a replacement but another baby girl to share my life with. She is a good friend it turned out of my dog\'s groomer. One of the girls on YT gave me her name as she has a boy from her too. Again thanks for the hug....... |
