| Ok. Felt nothing this morning....but did experience the shaker about a week and a half ago I have lived in So. Calif my whole life so I'm used to these shakers...Was here during the Olive View/Sylmar Quake in 71...and again for the Northridge Quake believe me.....I honestly do not want to ever go through that again...

| black out Hi Misty, Well, we did not feel the earthquake, but we did have a black out for 4 hours. From like 10 pm to 2 am, now that was FUN....not....lol 1. No air conditioner.....I had to take Buffy a full bath at 11:30 pm, yes the old girl had a candle lite bath....lol The boys I was able to cooled them down with wet towels, they had been swimming earlier and also had take a full bath at the end of the day. 2. No TV......but I remembered I have a small one that runs on batteries, yay. 3. I always have candles and batteries.......so no toes were hurt at any time but I did have to put a collar with a bell on Keanu (he is still small and his coat is black, he was hard to see in the dark) 4. No internet 4 hours of NO YT.......Now that was harsh

Really? I would think it would make them hot or hotter. I will have to try this, Thanks. Today again the electricity went out while I was out, but I left the kids kinda wet, and wet towel laying around just in case...good thing I did. Well, I hope everyone is well and cool

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | I am so glad no one was injured! My good friend from another board lives in SoCal, and she told us about it. She said it wasn't a bad one.

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | We didn't feel it either. I'm sick of the heat. The puppies like the fan. Too funny. |

I can top that! We've been on black out now for 41 hours, and still going strong! (yay me! ) I'm at the library posting this. I haven't been able to get online since Sunday evening. I don't think they're going to have it fixed any time soon! | |

| I agree with you 100%, but it's all a matter of where you grew up I think! I would take a tornado over an earthquake ANY day, but I grew up in MO for 23 years, and I've only been in CA for 3 years! Now...I've yet to feel an earthquake (knock on wood), but the idea of one scares me terribly! I think because I'm picturing what happens in the movies...the ground swallowing you whole...which doesn't really happen. But still...I appreciate the warning you get with the tornado sirens, and I'd take that over an earthquake - hands down! |

| I remember when I was younger and still living in MO (Kansas City), all the scientists had predicted that the New Madrid fault was going to go on that particular day (don't recall the day or even the year), and it was all over the news, school was cancelled, and people were hauled up in their houses waiting for the big quake...and NOTHING happened!!!! I guess ALL the scientists got it wrong, but it was awfully scarey for a bunch of people who have never experienced earthquakes before. BUT...on the other hand...give me a tornado, and I'll continue to wait it out until I personally see the sky turn green and the funnel cloud out my window...then I'll head for cover. Just depends on what you're used to... |

| OH NO Misty!!!! That sucks!!! We were without A/C last Thursday and Friday because we were having our A/C setup redone, and it was miserable!!! I worked from home those 2 days to be there with the A/C guys, and I couldn't stand it...had to work by the pool so I could put my legs in the water. And poor Sukoshi looked SO HOT!!! And it's even warmer where you're at! The heat even killed one of my fish in my fish tank because the salt water got up to 92 degrees, and that was WITH me floating ice packs in it!!! Try to keep cool!!! And good luck getting that electricity back on! Last edited by Sukoshi's Mom; 09-05-2007 at 01:54 PM. |

| Have any of you looked at the "attached site"?? I have it bookmarked and I look at it very day! (sometime twice a day!! lol) I grew up in San Diego County and have lived in Northern CA for the last 30 yrs. I have been through some earthquakes! We have a son who lives in "Woodland Hills" so I am watching the LA area carefully. Our daughter lives in Atascadero, CA (near Paso Robles which has frequent earthquakes!) This is a pretty cool web site..... up to the minute of quakes!! http://earthquake.usgs.gov/ Its pretty interesting to see how many quakes there actually are.....even though out the states and the world!!

| I forgot to add: Red square means quake within the last hour. Blue means quake within the last day. Yellow means quake within the last week. I'm sure you would have read that somewhere on the site, but I just wanted to add that!
