A whole lotta shakin'! Earthquake in CA! Did any of you So-Cal people feel that one that happened about 3 minutes ago? That one was a big one! We almost felt the need to do something about it... |
OMG - I hope you guys are all right - I'll have to turn on Fox News to see if they mention it. Keep safe!! Believe it or not we had one here in NE Ohio back in the 80s that really shook the house and that was only a 5.something and that was scary. :eek: |

Glad it wasn't any bigger. It's almost been 18 years since the last big one in nor cal. We forget how bad they can be until we get our reminders. Now is a good time to make sure we have our earthquake supplies ready. |
yikes hope its not a pre curser i hate dem things i was a kid when the big one hit Nor cal and in my familys pool in sacramento and it dumped half the water outta the pool and had me freaked out at least we dont have tornados or hurricanes |

If any shaking goes on then I just walk outside and wait it out. I moved here in July of 85 and have only felt a little trimble twice. I wouldn't trade where I live for anyplace else in the US, but I could be talked into moving to Spain or Italy. ;) |

I'd rather take our hurricanes. The thought of being sucked up into the earth scares the heck out of me. I'll never visit California, because I'm afraid I'd bring the big one. LOL |

potential disaster list I have read that there is no "safe" place in the USA from earthquakes, as the Teutonic plates keep shifting ... and it is truly just a matter of time. there will always be natural disasters to deal with and we all learn to deal with our own .... so as CA deals with earthquakes, FL deals with hurricanes, the mid west deals with tornadoes and other areas deal with droughts and forest fires, we all adapt ... if you want to worry... here are the potential disasters in a list ... Aircraft Avalanche Dam Drought Earthquake Epidemic Explosion Fire Flood Hurricane Marine Mine Oil Spill Railroad Submarine Terrorist Attack Tornado Winter Storm will LA become a suburb of San Francisco one day???:embarasse http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/43556 yep, most likely, but will WE be around to see it??? I've lived in tornado country...I'll take earthquakes....I can count on one hand the number of earthquakes I've experienced in my lifetime and most of them were minor. I got tired of getting the dogs and myself to the safe zone on the average of once a week during the tornado zone. Homes and business, freeways are built to withstand most earthquakes. If a tornado hits you, you're out of luck, no matter how much of a warning you get. |
