| ![]() Now attacking someone that has never had any problems with them ,means nothing, other than what they stated. I have heard bad things and I have heard good things about them also. I have several friends that have purchased from Pauleys Pups and they have had no problems what so ever. So I still say if you have a bad experience with them, then report them to the Better Business Bureau. They have the power to take their license away if they are that bad. I checked with the Better Business Bureau and do you know not a single complaint has ever been reported to them about Pauleys Pups. So before you attack people, understand that there are different opinions and although it may not be of your liking, be curteous and know their experiences are just different from yours. They do not have to be the owner of the place you are bashing. They just have purchased from there and have had not ill experiences. So people if you have a bad experience from Pauleys, don't just complain here, do something about it! Complain to the right authorities. There are laws against it. |

if you were referring to my ad, my intentions were not to attack but to make a point..that someone whose posted once (noted buy a previous poster) and only once to come on here to defend a place thats known to have a bad reputation. 2nd..i could be totally wrong because i havent reported anyone to the bbb..but i heard once (and again i just heard it so i could be wrong) that if the problem is taking care of..the BBB will remove the complaint...if requested FACT: there are petitions to close them down..big warrning sign there FACT: complaints against them FACT: the dogs come from puppy mills..to have a "supply" of over a 100 dogs (which is a quote from pauleys ad's) at all times..means that someone is pumping out the puppies to supply them with..and in order to supply that many consisitently that alot of breeding....puppy mill FACT: certain breeds have been banned from there business FACT: they sell mix breeds as purebreds if they can pull it off you can try to defend it all you want but i wont believe anything positive about them, i will continue to tell people in passing when they ask me about where to get a pet to stay away from them...

| ![]() Now if they are that bad, then the BBB would have them shut down. Also if they are that bad, then there would be constant complaints. If people would complain more, then they would not be in business. Where ever they get their puppies from I am sure it isn't a good breeder, however, they are still in business as no one is doing anything to shut them down. Has anyone complained to PETA? I still believe that trashing someone or any business without first hand experience is wrong. That is how people have been mistreated for years, based on hear-say. I also don't know if what you are saying about the Shelties is gospel, as you are going on hear-say. Now if they have been told they can not sell them, then how are they allowed to stay open? You can't single out one breed to sell. There several pet stores in the area that sell puppies, and I believe that they would be no better than this place. I would say if you want to purchase a puppy - get it from a breeder and make sure you are able to see Mom and Dad. Never get one where you have to meet them to get your puppy. That is a red flag. Now if you go to Pauleys and it looks as bad as people here have stated (I called my friends that have dogs from them and they did not have to wear an apron and gloves), then why would you purchase? That says something is wrong if you have to put an apron on and wear gloves. Geez , common sense tells you that! ![]() |

| ![]() my mother bred shelties for years..she knows a lot of breeders, i checked with her again tonight and she stated that years ago that was a sheltie band on pauleys pups..that a huge lot of breeders signed some documents against selling to pauleys..we have gone in several times to see how the appearences are holding up at pauleys..once we were there and they had a sheltie..and a call was placed. i dont live far and the last time i was there i had to but on a apron and gloves..its great they are being caution but i was totally put off by it..i have visited many times and it only gets worse and worse..its very impersonal as well...the dogs feet are COVERED in urnine..runny eyes and noses..only about 1-2 per cage look purebred and well cared for... i my self perfer going to a breeders home, seeing the area, the parents, the paperwork, the temperments, and you can see more of the puppies personalities..since they are running in familiar home..i like the eye contract of the breeder and personal experience you get with a breeder who is avaliable when needed not just business hours |

| ![]() If you are willing to work with the company in anyway. Like accept vet money back or a new pup. The complaint goes away. As resolved. I had a complaint filed about Dell. I wanted a mini netbook, bought it from the website for $199. and paid for overnight shipping. When my e reciept came in to my email box it stated that they could not ship til late August. Mind you I'm buying direct from the company and would not have it overnight shipped til August,June at best and this was April 1. After calling less then an hour later and being placed on hold, having the call dropped. and finally after alot of calls being told it was being processed to late to cancel. Mind you I would still not get my netbook til August. but my order was being processed. It took me a month with the BBB to get my money back in full for false business practices. As soon as the money was reported back to the BBB I was paid in full there fore satisfied. My complaint went away and was PULLED off the site. Hmm, soon there's thousands of unhappy customers who have NEVER heard that Dell no longer has customer supurt worth a darn. Or could tell you at the end of you buying a computer/laptop that the shipdate you see isn't what you'll get. Look at Dell suport online. You'd be suprised. there's thousands of complaints. But the BBB considers them gold. cause eventually they will pay you off. Just Like Pauley's pups.

![]() On another note - does anyone know if Pauley's Pups is a pet store kind of establishment or is it an actual breeding facility? The reason I ask is because the person we got Smokey from said he was originally purchased in Southern VA and all I've got is his "breeders" first name. I don't know if he was purchased in a store or from the mill directly. While doing research, this was the most popular place that I could find online, so it's a possibility he came from here. It's not really important, I just like to know where my babies come from... just for my knowledge

| ![]() pauleys pups used to be in a GARAGE..now its in a building...small..looks nice on the outside..its surrounded by warehouses...you walk in..there is a grooming station..another room where you do paper work and a garage/basement type room after that with 2 rows of puppies, that are roped off...and sinks on either end i think, with the hand sandatizers and so forth... cement floors..cages lined up on the floor..no panel to walk on..all wire (got to hurt their feet) about 10-14 cages in the rows all they say when you ask where the dogs came from is "close breeder friends" |

| ![]() I am not a regular of this site, but I picked this topic off of a websearch and started reading the discussion. I have a dog that was purchased at Pauley's, and have never had one minutes problem with her, and I would purchase again if they had what I was looking for. I think the sinks, aprons, sanitizer is a perfect idea, and is safer for the puppies. How are they supposed to know where you have been or what type of germs you may be bringing in. Give me a break, I always wash my hands or use sanitizer even at home when I handle anything that belongs to the dogs, if you don't, then I really am glad I am not coming to your house for dinner. I didn't really prefer the way the puppies were caged, but walking on the wire is better than them standing in urine and feces. The puppies didn't seem to mind, they seemed happy and playful. I'm sure you have to understand, when you have that many puppies around, they can't be just turned loose in a room together....what a mess!!! Obviously some of the fault also needs to fall on the breeder and puppy mills, Pauley's is only selling them not breeding them. Inherited traits fall back on the breeder of the puppies, and if you think about it, Pauley's may be a far site better than where some of these puppies came from, you just don't happen to see that part of the picture. I'm sure some improvements could be made, and you are given a guarantee at the time of purchase, all you have to do is take the dog to the vet and have it checked out. They also give you back the purchase price plus $60 if the vet says it's unhealthy. Like I said, I'm not a regular here, and I am not affiliated with Pauley's in any way. I just thought I would put in my opinion since I have purchased dogs from Pauley's and I know others who have also and none of us have had a problem. Thanks. |

i could give a rats a$$ about u coming to my house for dinner but the way they are cared for is impersonal and cold! when i have people view my puppies..they do use hand sanitizer and they are only allowed to visit once the puppies have been vaccinated against bacteria and germs. i also do not submit the babies to wire under their feet..can you image how uncomfortable that is...i clean them after they potty so they don't walk in urine and feces....and that's how they should be cared for there. i also allow puppies to play and run around instead of keeping them locked in a 20" crate until sold.. pauleys pups is just like the puppy mills..sure they do take the precautions of being clean but why do you think they started doing that as severly as they do? because they had consistently sick puppies...your puppy is the exception...there is one to every rule when i want to pick out a puppy i want to visit a warm enviroment, with knowledgeable people and not a hundred puppies (as advertised) where the puppies are loved and socialized... they are not a great place to buy from doing your research and meeting breeders is!
