![]() ![]() I do not own a yorkie, but I did purchase a pug puppy from Laura and Bryant in January of 2006. My partner at the time found them on-line and I'm not sure what prompted her to use them except the incredibly adorable furry puggie that was in the picture on their website. (The pup was a surprise for me) We drove 6 hours from western mass. to a mcdonald's parking lot in whitehall, me. (which I thought was shady) where Bryant met us with Olive. We signed the papers, exchanged small talk and got back in the car. She came with a sweater on, a baby blanket (which we still have), some food, her papers, and a toy. I do remember seeing a picture of a Roxy on their website right around the same time... was that your Roxy? I also swore that I noticed under the picture that Roxy "now lives in Long Island"...b/c I remember thinking that those people came a long way to get a puppy. I did try sending them a picture and an update but I never got any response... hmm... seems to be standard with them I guess. I never tried to correspond with them again. And so far, to my knowledge, we have been very lucky with Olive. She is just the most adorable pug and full of personality. I can only hope that her first few weeks living in that house weren't a nightmare... but at least I know for certain that if it was a nightmare, she will never have to worry about living like that again. Just like TJ and Roxy won't ever have to worry. Before I stumbled upon these posts, I contemplated getting her a brother or sister from them. Now I guess, since they have taken much of their site down, I can't even try to rescue a puppy from their "home". I did always wonder why Olive didn't come with AKC but rather Continental. Not until I read these post did that get cleared up. Does anyone know of a message board like this for pugs, where they might rate pug breeders.... I would love to see if there are other pug owners who got their pugs from Brylaur and see what, if anything, might be in store for Olive. ![]() I wish TJ and Roxy and you the best!

| ![]() First of all, i am so sorry for you and your Babies and pray they will be ok, they are so lucky to have such loving and caring Mommy and Daddy ! How sad ! As for this so called Breeder, they should be ashamed of them selves, but after reading all this, i doubt it ! Somebody needs to go after them, as they just going to keep pumping these poor little puppies out, and just look at this this way, you may be helping those poor Mommas out of their misery ! Beyond Sad ! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

![]() TLC, did your regular vet do the LP surgery? A few years back, I had one that had lp, the vet told me he did not do that surgery, said you needed somekind of surgical vet(can't remember what he called them)..said a regular vet shold never do that surgery...he said a lot of times, they end up messing up and they end up having the surgery done again..I told my sister the same thing when her yorkie had to have that surgery, she used her vet, and ended up having to take her back in the 2nd time..I did call all the vets in this area, which, there are a lot of them, and they all told me the same thing, they didn't do that surgery, the closest vet that did it was an hour away..

![]() I couldn't actually believe what I was reading here, as I thought my story was unique! After a week of communicating and confirming a sale with Laura, I hit the road early on a Saturday morning (from Westchester, New York) to pick up my toy fox terrier, "Tonka" (now Bauer). We waited for HOURS at the McDonalds parking lot- BryLaur was a no show! (By the way, I always thought this was shady--- why not let people pick up at your warm and humble home? But I thought, maybe they are just 'private people', silly me, now I know it's because they have something to hide). We called and called, there was no answer until about three hours later. Evidently, Laura sent me an email earlier that day telling me she was "sick" and it wouldn't be a good idea for me to head up there. I dont know about any of the other readers here, but I cannot access email from my car, so A PHONE CALL WOULD'VE BEEN NICE! (And yes, she did have my cell number to do so). As Laura was screaming the background, her husband was finally kind enough to tell us he would bring us the pup! Bauer was and still is a happy pup! He had a great disposition but an akward gait. We brought him to the vet for some boosters about a week or two later, and the vet noticed something peculiar within the muscular system, something he believed was neurological. I sought out a second opinion and this vet noticed it herself. They both say it is cerebellar ataxia, and the symptoms certainly match. He cannot coordinate and has lousy balance, random muscle spasms in the abdomen and his head shakes in certain situations requiring focus. Again, two seperate vets confirmed that this was the cause of either inbreeding or an infection the mother may have had during pregnancy. They say there is nothing we can do for him (at least not at this time) and only time will tell. I pray for him everyday. Others who posted raised several excellent points--- clearly, this woman sees nothing wrong with what she is doing, but I believe this will come back to her tenfold. AND who is this "qualified" vet of hers??? I believe he/she should be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law and as far as licensure goes if he/she is falsifying information. AND LASTLY, she admitted to turning away an AKC inspector who visited her home--- again, what is she hiding there?? The inspector was not wearing adequate protective gear!?!? Do the breeders decontaminate themselves (after tending to their "critters", horses, pigs, goats, etc) before entering the home? DOUBT IT! I went onto the BryLaur website and also noticed that most of the pups for sale have been taken down. Again, I thought maybe this was a unique situation- that Bauer had been passed along something and probably not the other litter mates. Thinking to myself, "thats wierd, what happened there?" I through "BryLaur" into google and found this message-board. I am open to any proactive suggestions in this matter--- these breeders should be stopped! I look forward to hearing your opinions and feedback.

![]() Hi. I'm sorry about your pup. I truly am. I was wondering if I could ask you where this woman is located. She wasn't by chance from North Jersey area was she? I'm asking because when I first came on here as a member and was looking into another Yorkie, this woman PMed me and said she had Yorkies and the thing that struck me was "Mcdonalds." She wanted to meet me at her local McDonalds. That sent a red flag up so I backed off and would not have any further contact with her. Just wondering if this may be the same person. Again, best of luck to you and your baby. Elaine

![]() Thank you for sharing your story. Please know that I will have Bauer in my constant prayers and thoughts. Your story doesn't surprise me the least. The more I read about Brylaur topped with everything else I already know, the more I truly believe that they are nothing more than a 'mill' - I truly believe that all their breeding dogs have come from some sort of mill to begin with - I truly believe that they are producing lots and lots of sick pups - their breeding dogs must also be very sick - and they have NO CARE IN THE WORLD ABOUT IT! YES - What comes around goes around - Laura and Bryant will definitely not get a way with their careless and irresponsible breeding practices. It will soon come to bit them in the butt ![]() I think about them all the time and wonder how can people be filled with such evil and then I remember the all mity dollar - PURE GREED ![]() (I too met them at McDonalds - I was nieve - they told me that their home was another 45 mins. into 'country' and I agreed and wanted to save myself that 'extra trip in' - little did I know ![]() ![]() Like I have said before - Laura and Bryant YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES!!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]()
