| ![]() After Oscar passed away I switched vets 'cause I thought that his vet back then had a lot to do with my babies death, so I switched to Bay Glen Animal Hospital owned by Dr. Lisk in the Clear Lake City area and I like him a lot, he is not there all the time so is hard to get an appt with him, but all the other drs. are as nice and knowledgable as him.

| ![]() Yes, you don't want to take your pet there, Abshier Meuth.I brought mine in for something simple and got a call a few hours later that he died and they just wanted talk money. Come to find out they overdosed him on all the medication they gave him. Another friend of mine brought his dog on for a teeth cleaning and got a call a few hours later their dog was dead. The few pet lovers in their are not the vets, so don't be mislead at how nice all the assistants are. They are like a hospital, they just want money. They will pump your dog up with as much medication as they think they can get away with.I haven't been to the Archer clinic. Last edited by Heart Broke; 11-21-2009 at 09:42 AM. |

| ![]() I go to Kim Runge, DVM ... she is located on Nasa Road One in Seabrook. I have used her for many years now. Top notch vet! For surgical cases, I use Gulf Coast Veterinary Clinic in Houston.

| ![]() I have been looking and looking in Houston for a vet that would listen and be willing to learn about my sweet Lola's liver problem's...well, I think I found one! Hooray! Her name is Dr. Wilkie at Richmond Avenue Animal Hospital near the Galleria. She has Yorkies of her own and loves the breed as much as we do! She does not believe in over vaccinating like most vets I have run into and she spent almost 1 hour with me today just talking about my 2 babies. If you need a great vet in Houston that loves and understands Yorkies, I think she is the one....her number is 832-203-7711. |

Thanks for the recommendation. I live in Katy and I need a new vet. Is the clinic north of I-10 or south? Hwy 6 seems to go forever! Doesn't really matter to me at this point, I need a new vet!

here's the website - Animal Hospital * Highway 6 I don't view it as a 'hospital' but a very nice vet practice with very caring vets and office personel After I moved I went to a few vets in my area and was disgusted - they all seemed to have an awful smell so I turned away and walked right out. I did try one close to me for their annuals and holy cow - the dr. spent like 5 minutes with us - then handed me a bill for $380.00. My jaw dropped ....Hwy6 Animal Hospital is the best one I've dealt with - and there is an emergency hospital they work closely with not far from their location - | |

| ![]() Dr Wickle at Claws and Paws Vet Hospital in Pearland is SUPER. ALL the vets she has in that clinic are top notch as well, and the staff is very knowledgable, caring, friendly....The vet techs are fabulous, and everyone in that facility sits and talks and explaines and works with their clients....I love them all! My recommendation for a groomer salon is Pink Paws Pet Salon, also in Pearland. Sandy and Sylvia are both fabulous and you know they are great because not only does you baby come home looking gorgeous, when you take your baby in there, they ADORE Sandy and Sylvia and practically jump into their arms! |

| ![]() I have been going to Pet Care Express since I got my Joli about 2 and a half years ago. They are a low cost clinic and I don't always see the same vet, but I have always really liked them. The office visit is only $9 and the few times I have needed to go in for a non check up reason if they didn't find anything wrong I didn't have any other charge [one time Joli jumped off the bed wrong when she was a puppy and was limping around, but there was nothing wrong and had pretty much gone away by the time we had gotten there] I started going there because it was really close to me and cheap. But I continue to go because they are always really nice. I haven't always gotten A LOT of time with the vet, but if I continue to ask questions and seem like I need to talk more they are always very helpful. All of the staff their has always been really nice and helpful. Which I was afraid of this not being true because most places that have lower prices also have lower customer care and this is not the case. Their prices for medicines are cheaper than anywhere else I can find including 1-800-pet-meds. And they have never tried to force me to buy anything I don't need or ask about. It is a walk-in only clinic, so if you pick the wrong time to go then you might have to wait awhile. The only time I have had to wait any extreme amount of time there was an emergency and the vet was outside with the hurt dog. If your baby has any serious problems this might not be the place to go, but for routine check ups and basic things they are great [especially if you have a limited budget] Last week I took my little Somi [3.6 pounds, 10 months old] because she was limping on and off. The vet came in and immediately knew what was wrong, she has LP. I had already read about it while looking up what "could" be causing her limping, but he answered all my questions very well and referred a couple of surgeons. He also gave us some pain meds in case she seemed like she was in a lot of pain before I was able to get in to see the specialist. [I have only given it to her twice because I don't want to give it to her too often.] Also, I took Joli to SNAP Houston to get her spayed. Which is a low cost spay/neuter place. I was a little nervous about taking her there, but she really needed to be spayed and I did not currently have the money to take her anywhere else. Everything I read about them was very positive so I took a chance, but put off taking my smaller yorkie [Joli is a little over 8 pounds and Somi is about 3.5 pounds]. The place was very nice and everyone I saw was very professional and nice. Given I did not meet the actual surgeon which I wasn't a big fan of, but since all they do is spay/neuter and basic check ups I figured they were definitely well qualified. She came home from surgery in pain, but she recovered extremely quickly [I gave her a pain pill the day after, but she ended up having so much energy and tried to jump around so much that I didn't give her anymore to try to let the pain that she might have calm her down]. I was very impressed with them and will probably be taking Somi there as well. I would definitely recommend them. It also supports them to be able to Spay/Neuter homeless pets and very low income families with pets for free I believe which I like. Once I am no longer a student and have a real job I think they will be high on my list of places to give donations. [I am a grad student, so currently low income but will hopefully eventually be able to make real money *fingers crossed*] And as another side note, I went to Greenway Animal Clinic once [I now live close to them and I was thinking about switching vets] and wasn't a fan. I didn't have an appointment and went in just to ask questions and decide how I felt about them. It was after Joli started being aggressive towards Somi and I was asking them if they knew of anything I could do. I also had Somi with me at the time and I had told them that Joli had attacked her and neither of the ladies I talked to asked how she was or if I wanted her looked at. They also dismissed me and gave me a brochure they had for some trainer and said that they can't help with behavior problems. The vet there might be very nice, but the ladies I talked to in the front were so rude that I decided I would not be going back.
