I have been going to Pet Care Express since I got my Joli about 2 and a half years ago. They are a low cost clinic and I don't always see the same vet, but I have always really liked them. The office visit is only $9 and the few times I have needed to go in for a non check up reason if they didn't find anything wrong I didn't have any other charge [one time Joli jumped off the bed wrong when she was a puppy and was limping around, but there was nothing wrong and had pretty much gone away by the time we had gotten there]
I started going there because it was really close to me and cheap. But I continue to go because they are always really nice. I haven't always gotten A LOT of time with the vet, but if I continue to ask questions and seem like I need to talk more they are always very helpful. All of the staff their has always been really nice and helpful. Which I was afraid of this not being true because most places that have lower prices also have lower customer care and this is not the case.
Their prices for medicines are cheaper than anywhere else I can find including 1-800-pet-meds. And they have never tried to force me to buy anything I don't need or ask about.

It is a walk-in only clinic, so if you pick the wrong time to go then you might have to wait awhile. The only time I have had to wait any extreme amount of time there was an emergency and the vet was outside with the hurt dog. If your baby has any serious problems this might not be the place to go, but for routine check ups and basic things they are great [especially if you have a limited budget]

Last week I took my little Somi [3.6 pounds, 10 months old] because she was limping on and off. The vet came in and immediately knew what was wrong, she has LP. I had already read about it while looking up what "could" be causing her limping, but he answered all my questions very well and referred a couple of surgeons. He also gave us some pain meds in case she seemed like she was in a lot of pain before I was able to get in to see the specialist. [I have only given it to her twice because I don't want to give it to her too often.]

Also, I took Joli to SNAP Houston to get her spayed. Which is a low cost spay/neuter place. I was a little nervous about taking her there, but she really needed to be spayed and I did not currently have the money to take her anywhere else. Everything I read about them was very positive so I took a chance, but put off taking my smaller yorkie [Joli is a little over 8 pounds and Somi is about 3.5 pounds]. The place was very nice and everyone I saw was very professional and nice. Given I did not meet the actual surgeon which I wasn't a big fan of, but since all they do is spay/neuter and basic check ups I figured they were definitely well qualified. She came home from surgery in pain, but she recovered extremely quickly [I gave her a pain pill the day after, but she ended up having so much energy and tried to jump around so much that I didn't give her anymore to try to let the pain that she might have calm her down]. I was very impressed with them and will probably be taking Somi there as well. I would definitely recommend them. It also supports them to be able to Spay/Neuter homeless pets and very low income families with pets for free I believe which I like. Once I am no longer a student and have a real job I think they will be high on my list of places to give donations. [I am a grad student, so currently low income but will hopefully eventually be able to make real money *fingers crossed*]

And as another side note, I went to Greenway Animal Clinic once [I now live close to them and I was thinking about switching vets] and wasn't a fan. I didn't have an appointment and went in just to ask questions and decide how I felt about them. It was after Joli started being aggressive towards Somi and I was asking them if they knew of anything I could do. I also had Somi with me at the time and I had told them that Joli had attacked her and neither of the ladies I talked to asked how she was or if I wanted her looked at. They also dismissed me and gave me a brochure they had for some trainer and said that they can't help with behavior problems. The vet there might be very nice, but the ladies I talked to in the front were so rude that I decided I would not be going back.
