Yorkie Talker | I also know Joann personally and completely agree with jojorae29. A purchased a female Yorkie from Joanne in 2010. My Sassy was born June 13, 2010 and when I saw a picture of her, I fell in love with her. I called the breeder and she was very cautious about who she wells her puppies to. Sassy was very small when she was born and Joanne would not release her to me until she was a certain weight, eating properly and made sure she was in good health with no problems. I finally got her when she was 3 1/2 months old. She was expected to be small 3-4 lbs and her current weight is 2 pounds 10 oz. She is very small but beautiful strong and healthy. The vet tells me she is really doing great for such a small dog. You do of course have to be more careful with these little ones as they are more fragile. But I wouldn't trade her for anything. She has such a wonderful personality. Her hair is long and beautiful, (already touches the floor. Her picture is posted on this website. I would definitely recommend her as a breeder. |

| On the home page it says Xrays of moms before birth to ensure puppies will not have complications after being born. Xrays will tell you how many pups and how good chance it is for a free whelping meaning not needing a c section or perhaps needing one for size of pup, size of birth canal. I also don't understand why there are puppies for sale in Michigan, Maryland and NewYork? |

| I posted a positive review for a greeder oh I'm sorry must be a misspell??, a BREEDER that I PERSONALLY bought 2 puppies from. Both Bella and my little boy Bleu came from Joann. Both are very healthy and beautiful. I know you will visit my page to look, so feel free. The names of the 2 that I got from her again, BELLA and BLEU..I love on this site how people who have NO PERSONAL EXPERIENCE with a breeder can be so judgmental and down right nasty. I joined this site to get knowledge on the breed and to talk with other NICE people who loved their Yorkies, and their other pets, as much as I do. If you do not like what a person puts on their site, News flash, Do not read it!! Do not buy a puppy from them!?! When you talk about the Breeder that my babies came from, your talking about my fur babies. Talking about my fur babies is like talking about my skin children and I will comment every time. Most will not post a comment sometimes, excuse me alot of times, for fear of the attacks they get on this site, which is so sad because their is alot of good people and great information on Yorkie Talk. I know some will have alot to say and comment on this so please feel free today and I will answer as much as I can in a timely manner. If someone has a real question and wants a knowledgeable opinion on Joann's yorkies please feel free to msg me or post on here.. Thank you all and have a wonderful and blessed day...

Yorkie Talker | Lorraine, I guess I can see where you misinterpreted what Joanne states on her home page regarding the xrays. She was obviously talking about complications with the BIRTH of the puppies and/or mother when she stated that, NOT future complications of the puppies. I even called her to let her know she may want to revise her wording as people were not understanding what she was saying. Finally, I don't think anyone should judge her based on her website/wording. We all make mistakes or typos that can easily be misread. I would take the word of individuals that have actually MET Joanne and/or been to her home and/or purchased any of her puppies. Only THEN can you make a legitimate call on your knowledge/experience of her. I could go on and on about all those posting negatively about her (that have no knowledge of her), but I think I have made it clear enough. All I'm saying is you can not make an ACCURATE judgement call if you don't have ACTUAL experience with this breeder. We shouldn't criticize if we don't have the HANDS ON facts. And as far as "teacup" yorkies; this is just a name to describe a smaller than usual dog. I don't believe she actually breeds for this size but sometimes it happens. It's like a human mother giving birth to a pre-mature baby; you don't expect it, but it happens and you just have to be much more careful with them as they require a lot more care and attention. And PLEASE don't misinterpret this statement as if I am trying to compare a human baby to a puppy....just using that scenario to explain how any animal OR human born smaller than normal require more care. Hope everyone has a great day! Let's all try to live in harmony and look for the good in people not bad. God Bless you! |

| You can be a very nice person and love animals, take great care of them but still be a bad breeder. Joann gets her yorkies from Natalie. Does she have small cute dogs? Absolutely. Is she a responsible breeder? Absolutely NOT. Here's the problem. There are puppies already born that yes, they need good loving homes. However, by buying puppies from these breeders you are encouraging them to continue what they're doing. I know Joann's breeding female of 4 lbs has been listed on Natalie's site for sale. I know that for 100% FACT. 4 lbs. We all know a 3lb something dog can be 4lbs just by having too many treats. People who are breeding their pets to make extra money are not in it for the betterment of the breed, they are in it to supplement their income or live off their dogs. It makes money and the smaller, the more money. I'm not saying Joanns dogs are not healthy. I just know the breeder she gets her breeding stock from does not sell healthy dogs. It's a risk some are willing to take. Others are not. Use your own judgment.

| The weight of the female has been changed to 5 lbs. It did previously say 4lbs, but the picture was moved and the description changed so maybe she's gained weight. I just wanted to correct that. I hate to put out any incorrect information. I don't understand selling breeding females when you're done with them. It seems sad to me but according to Natalie's site Joann is going out of business. " My friend Joann is going out of business and this is one of the females she purchased from me. She has had 2 litters of puppies already with no problems she is free whelper and a very sweet and friendly little girl. " So purchasing from her is no longer an issue.
