Anyone heard of Joanns Yorkies?

Here's the problem. There are puppies already born that yes, they need good loving homes. However, by buying puppies from these breeders you are encouraging them to continue what they're doing. I know Joann's breeding female of 4 lbs has been listed on Natalie's site for sale. I know that for 100% FACT. 4 lbs. We all know a 3lb something dog can be 4lbs just by having too many treats.

People who are breeding their pets to make extra money are not in it for the betterment of the breed, they are in it to supplement their income or live off their dogs. It makes money and the smaller, the more money.

I'm not saying Joanns dogs are not healthy. I just know the breeder she gets her breeding stock from does not sell healthy dogs. It's a risk some are willing to take. Others are not. Use your own judgment.

Joann yes has gotten some of her breeding stock from the person your speaking of, I will not speak on her breeding practices, I do not know her nor have I bought any babies from her. I PERSONALLY know that all Joann's dogs are 4lbs and up. My Bella came from her Bella that was over 5 lbs. I also personally know that Joann has not purchased any breeding stock from her in years. Yes, I do believe that people should use their own judgement, but also people who do not have experience with a breeder should be a little less judgmental and quick to judge and a little less harsh in their comments. Maybe also choose their words a little more carefully and state that they have no personal experience..

I agree. Personal experiences are always welcomed and are very valuable to perspective buyers. People have very strong convictions when it comes to these adorable yorkies. I tell you, it's hard to find a breeder that doesn't have an unhappy customer in it's past. Even show breeders. Purchasing a pet used to be so easy! Now it's like researching a term paper combined with a flow chart. Your babies are adorable and since Joann is no longer breeding it's a moot point on her breeding practices, I would delete my previous post but I don't see how to do that.

I could never be a breeder, it is way more complicated than the average layman could understand. When done correctly, all those tests, genetics, lines, heck even tail docking sound more complicated than I could ever understand...plus the fact that with all those cute faces, I'd never be able to part with one. It'd be like parting from a child. I'm way too sensitive to handle that.

I really like this site and the many helpful posts and all the great information. Yorkie Talk is really informational and I have met and conversed with some really wonderful people. I know people can be very opinionated, heck I am! lol! I just choose to say things and make comments that are more helpful or less hurtful then some.. I just wish everyone was like that and this site wouldn't have people so scared to comment on something or make a post and ask for advice. Even some of the people that make the mean comments, if they realized how much their knowledge of the breed could help others instead of others being to scared to ask a question they would do a huge service to this site and the members..

I like you try to be as nice as possible on this site (although at times my anger has gotten the best of me) but we have all seen Natalie post about how tiny her breeding stock is and if your friend ie breeder is breeding 4lb females that is to small. I am not a breeder but have read extensively on the subject since joining YT and from what I have learned it is unwise to breed a female under 5lbs. Welcome to YT though and hopefully you will understand we all really love our furbabies and only want what is best for them.

Its more of how these same breeders keep coming up too, and not for positive reviews eitger.

I totally understand that. I love my babies and am very protective anf proud of them. My point is Joann is not anyone else but Joann. In life just because people you associate or associated with do something doesn't mean you do the same, and that is what I am trying to get across here. Unless someone has been to your home, seen your fur babies, checked out your breeding stock for themselves, the opinions are just that, site & babies unseen, JUST opinions. They are not knowledgeable opinions, just opinions. What I am saying in a whole is lets not be so nasty and and reckless when it comes to someone else s good name.

This is a public forum, and as such we are all entitled to our own opinion. We don't have to know the woman personally to have an opinion of her...some of her breeding stock has come from Natalie...well know to breed for size (small)..we also know that Natalie has some sick pups. You want to come to Jo Ann's defence, that is your right just as it is our right not to trust anyone that has bought breeding stock from a known breeder of sick and small babies.

You are definitely right, this is a public forum and you may have a opinion on anything. But do you not also believe that as adults & humans, we have a responsibility to have to make an educated statement? To have an educated opinion? Especially when dealing with someones reputation? I believe we all have done things in the PAST that may or may not be the best choices.. If you are going to label someone, do it because you have spoke with people they have done business with, heck talk to them, and then make an educated statement. All I am asking is to be fair in handing out the labels that some have done on here.. I think we all could benefit in thinking sometimes before we speak... Just a thought... You can make an educated statement based on info the breeder has put out there or info others who have had dealings with her have put out or known info. You dont have to know the breeder personally to put out an educated statement and people that know her are going to put out slanted statements only based on their own personal experience only

I spoke with a really great person that I met on here and was given some great advice today.. Stay away from the negative and gravitate towards the positive. You cannot control what people say or think. Some like the drama and name trashing, personally I do not. As an adult and basically good human being I try to make educated statements, some don't.. Cannot control that.. So anyone who reads these threads please consider all sources as you would purchasing anything and make the most educated decision that you can..
