I am so thankful that we "dodged that bullet"!! We knew so little and he talked such a good line ... had we not caught him in the lie about shipping the puppy there's no telling what we would have wound up with! Even if the pup had been sick we would never have returned it after seeing it and I think most people are just like us! That experience is what caused us to really get down to business doing our homework!! We read books, researched everything we could find about Yorkies and made lots of phone calls. That's how we finally wound up getting contact information for our Dr. Lucy and she referred us to our breeder. That's why it's so very important to know everything you can find out about a breeder before you buy and even though I have yet to see a Yorkie that doesn't melt your heart ... if you have one tiny reservation, then don't buy the pup!!!

I am working with my local sheriff's department and Mississippi's detectives to try and get my money back. Can you tell me what site you see the complaints at? I would like to post some information for all those people so they can try and get their money back as well. Thank you.

I've been following this thread since it was posted and wanted to express how sorry I am to all of the people that were taken advantage of by these people. So, I did a google seach on the breeder's name and found this:

If you go to search then type in tiny darlings there are 6 complaints against this woman. In my google results there were multiple pages containing complaints against this woman. (also against the guy from the other site mentioned above) -- so I don't know if this will help you or not, but thought I'd pass along the information.

I will post my complaint on there (to add to the numerous complaint list). I am still looking to get 2 more puppies but out here is Cali., they are so expensive. I purchased maltese from Tiny Darlings while I was waiting for my yorkies to come. We had been corresponding online for a very long time. I decided to purchase yorkies from her to add to my maltese. She promised to help me get set up in business with the yorkies.

I had paid for 4 yorkies. It took me about 8 months to even receive one. I had paid for one with a check but had used my credit card for the other 3 so I had just disputed those on my credit card and had them charged back to Jan through Paypal. The yorkie I received had CKC papers instead of AKC. That was a lie. I paid for AKC. She is a beautiful dog but she had a horrible underbite. Jan knew I wanted the dog for breeding. She said that the dog had been seen by 2 vets and they did not catch it. My 12 year old daughter saw it.

I sold Jasmine to someone as a pet only- taking a loss.

The male maltese had horrible teeth. $300 later and 10 teeth gone and all cleaned- guess what- no akc papers ever came. I did get her to reimburse me for most of the dental bill.

The 2 adult females- 1 had a litter of puppies but I have found her a home. She is not really the quality or size for breeding. The other female had some kind of a problem where she would have needed surgery to be able to breed. Both girls have homes now and are happy pets. But I had to work with them for a long time to get them used to people.

A lady whom I have become friends with bought a male maltese from Jan- guaranteed to be 3 lbs. He is about 9-10 and she has never received papers on him. Another paid for a maltese from Jan for her daughter's birthday for last April. Jan told her the dog died. This lady had purchased a female maltese. After reporting Jan to the BBB- Jan asked her if she wanted a male yorkie. To date- this woman has received no dog and no refund. Jan told the BBB that she had already refunded the money.

We had become friends over a year period of time. She invited me to come to her home when I come to visit my brother in Mississippi. We had spoken on the phone and online. All before I decided to purchase anything from her. You can't trust anyone.

I am going to send this link to my 2 friends who were duped by Jan as well.

She kept telling me she felt so bad for all of the trouble she had caused me and she was going to send me a puppy at no charge- one of her best. My husband always said- don't hold your breath.

I hope they put her out of business. She has maltese again also. The poor little dogs.

I just found this thread on the main page of yorkietalk.com - I looked on yorkiepup.com and could not find the 'buyer beware' link. Do you think he removed it?

I found yorkiepup.com and was sickened by the exploiting of tiny teacup yorkies and the 5-6 grand price ranges- and sickened even more about the pages and pages dedicated to all of those tiny yorkies who had died, most by 'accidents' which were bluntly described in detail.

I have heard about it this Jan lady from several different sites. You are not the only one she has done this too. I too had trouble with my breeder (scam artist is more like it). He sold me a very very sick tiny pup, told me he was 12 weeks old (he was actually 7-8 weeks, way too young) . Bought the pup on February 28th last year and the dog was at the vets starting with the following day. Three specialists and lots of big bucks and I lost Max. During this time, I was trying to contact the breeder who did not return any of my calls. When I finally caught him, he told me he was not respnsible cause I did not take my pup to his vet. Did not know who his vet was and since he did not return my calls, could not find out. Sued him in small claims, this also required some private eye work as he put a phony address on his contract. Finally got him served using my daughter as a new customer (different last name) to set up an appointment for a new puppy. That is when I served him, long story short, we settled for two pups. Out of the first two replacement pups, one was sick within 24 hours ($300 later) I found out he had Parvo, he came and exchanged the dog for another and I had to keep them isolated from each other for 10 days in case the one in the first exchange was contagious with the Parvo. It has taken me 6 months to get these puppies totally healthy, mites, sarcoptic mange, and they really are poor examples of the breed, but I love them to death. I have spent enough money to put down on a house on these babies. This man's name is Eddy Kiss and he now has a website. He also advertises in the Sunday Los Angeles TImes. Do not buy a pup from him. I am not afraid to post this, with my real name on it because if something is true, it is not slander!!!!! Call the BBB. call the SPCA, call the AKC and call your state's Consumer Affairs department. California has a law that if you sell more than 10 pups in a year, you have to be licensed and inspected! Also, try the IRS fraud hotline, that will get her attention. And if they are not paying taxes on this money and the IRS gets them, you can claim a reward! Go Get her, girl! Don't get mad, GET EVEN!

It's absolutely horrible hearing all these stories. The one puppy I got from Jan ended up having "demodex" aka a type of mange. When I addressed the issue to her, she completely denied it. This type of mange is hereditary (from the mom). I paid over 200 dollars in visits to the Vet's office (so he can get dipped with medication). As of today, I still haven't gotten my refund. I never even got my papers for him too.

I am working very closely to my local Sheriff's department. They sent her a certified letter stating that they were investigating her. They can't guarantee that I will get my money back but they are working on getting her convicted of all these scams she's committed.

I finally got a email from her last week stating that it doesn't help that I file complaints about her because if she can't make any sales, she can't refund anyone's money!! Can you believe that? Of course I had to respond.

I asked her how can she make sales when she never follows through with them and how can she spend money that isn't hers!!

She didn't respond.

Can you tell me her paypal account email address? Apparently when Paypal tried to reverse my transaction, she closed all accounts. I told paypal that I knew that she's still getting payments through them but with a different email address/account. They asked that I provide them with it so they can link the two together and refund my money. Thank you!!

I am so glad you guys are working so hard to keep up with the notorious TinyDarlings. After reading a recent post where she didn't send papers for a bunch of dogs, among other things, I really wonder how she can live with herself each day when she gets up to put two dogs together to get another litter going. Disgusting. Keep up the good sleuthing y'all. There will be a payoff for her in this world I'm sure -- if the proper channels are used, she will soon be out of business. Hope she's caught drift of this thread too ... and if she has: Bad Dog "Breeder," Mrs. Tiny Darlings.
