| My Ninna camer from a local broker/disguised as boutique (Wizard of Claws) but she purchased her from the Halpains thru one of their puppy auctions (yes they auction to the highest bidders) Here you can find out more about them: http://www.stopwizardofclaws.com/Breeder_Violation.html Specifically some details on them: Robert & Starmye Halpain, Hulbert, Oklahoma, USDA# 73-A-1408 - (6/11/2003) Disposal and drainage systems must minimize vermin and pest infestation, insects, odors, and disease hazard. All drains must be properly constructed, installed, and maintained. West kennel south end dog waste running out on the ground under the kennel. Drain pipes broke loose from wash down upper and lower outside runs on west side of kennel .Real strong odor on the south end of kennel .This is a disease hazard and insect odor problems. - (10/10/2002) Outdoor facilities for dogs or cats must include one or more shelter structures that are accessible to each animal in each outdoor facility. East kennel pole barn 4 dog pens 13 dogs these dogs have no houses at this time. - (9/27/2000) Animal Inventory - Adult breeding dogs - 93, Puppies 25. I am glad your Kitty is healthy!! I wish I could say the same of my Ninna.

| Can I ask you guys that got their pups from this broker and or the Hailpains if your dog was microchipped? I know there are MANY brokers etc. that sell over the net. I'm just curious. My Lilly came from a rescue. We got her at 13 weeks and she was microchipped from Louisianna. I was originally told she was bought from a local petstore then turned in a week later after the person's dog did not like her but I was always uncertain about how true that was. Not many buy a puppy and pay big bucks at a petstore then just give them away a week later. Lilly is now almost 9 months old, healthy and weighing in just under 4 lbs. We truly love her. I'm just wondering if maybe she was bought via the net from one of these brokers then turned in to a rescue rather then sent back to them. Our rescue had over $900 into her as she was sick when they got her. Thanks, for any info. Elaine |

YT Addict | I'M shocked! Websites are very deceiving for sure... her dogs are beautiful, but I did notice the number of different breeds. Sad. Just sad

YT Addict | Endorsed by Miley Cyrus? Oh great...i was just checking out the rest of the site, and reached the PAST YORKIE PUPPY page. Guess who's first pictured on this page? Disney Channel's Hannah Montana's Miley Cyrus! She purchased a puppy from this breeder... endorsements will only help this breeder/broker/byb

| Someone should forward all this info to Miss Cyrus so she can see what's really going on! She could have a major impact on these places!

| The puppy was given to the star?? FOr the FREE PR ??? Come on!! If you were a breeder?? This would be the best move to give a puppy to the hottest teen star today. I'm not saying it the right move But the breeder played her card. Gave one puppy away... It will be seen by millions. |

| I don't know. Billy Joel got a puppy from a woman in NJ. That woman breeds many different breeders byb. My neighbor just got a puppy from this lady (not happy with that either) and she said the breeder has his picture with the pup up in her house as advertisement. I think sometimes celebrities don't think or don't care. Like many non-celebrities they just want what they want when they want it and where it came from or how the parents are cared for makes no difference. I'm not sure whether this breeder gave a pup away for publicity or not but educating someont can't hurt. Whether she knew it came from a byb / puppymill or not no one will ever know but if it's brought to her attention and she still chooses to support that place by allowing her picture to be left up on the site then that's a different story. No one can afford bad publicity and that push of knowing other know she bought a pup or was given a pup in exchange for her picture being on the site may be enough for her to contact the breeder and have it taken off. Just my .02 Elaine |

These people should not be allowed to breed any more poor dogs. And just because they put a pic of Miley with her yorkie does not automatically mean that the pup came from them, I am thinking they just want you to assume an association. Notice that there is no wording especifically notating that her puppy is from them (probably to protect them from a lawsuit)

| Clarify Starmye Halpain I was told I should google Starmye Halpain. Your site came up when I did. I don't understand the conversation that is going on. I see negative things being said about her, but I don't know why. What is so wrong with her and what is the proof? My friend and I have just bought dogs from her and I could not be more pleased. My little girl is curled up in my arms as we speak and her little friend is sleeping beside my daughter. I had no problem dealing with Starmye and she went out of her way to accommadate us. I found it quite a pleasant experience over all. I did see the post regarding a problem seven years ago, but it appeared to be a drainage problem that was addressed. The number of dogs she had seemed to be from that period of time. Are you saying she is a puppy mill or that she sells to them. I'm confused. Again, I have had a very positive experience. I would appreciate any clarification. I did notice that my AKC registered pups don't actually seem to be registered. I was sent the application instead and one of the dogs is listed as coming from another owner, which I do not understand. The registration for this one is for the American Canine Association, not the AKC as stated. I'm Canadian. Could someone please clarify the difference in these organizations and does this mean that she cannot be AKC registered? What is the difference here? The little girl came with a certificate of pedigree from United All Breed Registry and Pedigree Service. The little boy came with no pedigree. If someone can help me out here with some information, I would really appreciate it. Ginger |

| First of all, welcome to YorkieTalk! I am glad you found this site. We are all yorkie lovers here, and you can find a lot of valuable information on this site. About the breeder. It looks like several people have researched this breeder and have serious concerns. What that means to you as a new owner is that you need to be careful to get a good vet who can evaluate your baby and keep an eye out for any sort of hereditary, etc... problems. I pray you have healthy babies and that they stay that way. I'm glad they are doing so well. Do you have a health contract? Did you have your babies checked out by a vet yet? Were there any issues with parasites? Ear mites, fleas, ticks, worms? Do you have a vet record from the breeder? Which shots were given, when and what brand? Since this is a breeder some are concerned about, you might want to start finding these answers. On the AKC, etc...questions...you probably won't ever get all of that straightened out, but you might get lucky. Were you planning to show them or breed them? If not, then it's really no big deal in my opinion. I would focus on making sure they are healthy right now. Once again, welcome to YT! You might want to start a new thread introducing yourself in the general discussion section so more people can welcome you. Oh, and we LOVE pictures!
