Default Just Wondering...

Hello all I got Tiffanies whelping supplies all ready!! I got her whelping box out yesterday and cleaned it up again, got everything together now and just waiting, she is on day 44...Bigger then her 1st litter, she is not in the mood to play with Teddy or Sir. Galahad when I take them all 3 out to potty!! She nailed Teddy good awhile ago, sayin' U did this to me! LOL! She isn't up for lovin' by him no more! LOL! We have 2 cement steps that goes out our kitchen door into our garage and then a back door to our backyard, well she is so much bigger this time around that I'm gonna have to start carrying her down those steps for she is having trouble getting down them without flippin' head over heals...Then I have her in the living room for peace away from teddy and galahad, well when I go to let her out I just move the gate and she runs in the kitchen with the other 2 there already, well she ran under our kitchen table and I had the back door open and the 2 boys done ran out and I said come on Tiff, she was standing there and she tried to squeeze through the chair leg and the table leg and then just looking at me like U Jack_ _ _ I can't climb over the chairs or even squeeze through here, I laughed and said oh Tiff U can't get through there can U? I felt bad but I didn't realize she couldn't get through so I went to help her. I'm getting so very very excited about our babies coming soon. My Yorkies (All of them) are all I talk about! Has any of U're babies ever done things like this when they was with puppies? I got them all cleaned up for the babies coming, new daddy too and Mommy and bubby (Sir. Galahad) Bellies, butts, ears and paws all trimmed up. They look so sweet now not that they didn't before! Here is Tiffanie @ day 42 (Sat). Oh don't pay any mind to her paws the little/big poot moved as I was shaving them and I gapped all 4 so I just took them all down, but left the rest of her long. I think she looks silly this way but I didn't want to shave all of her coat it take her coat forever to grow! She waddles when she walks. I just hope and pray she don't go early from being so big and having a few weeks to go. Trust me she is a lot bigger with this little then her 1st, she NEVER waddled, or anything like she is with this litter. Do they seem to have more after their 1st litter? I'm just still feeling new @ whelping so I'm a worry wort too! Thanks for any tips from any of U. Any thoughts on how to make her comfortable until she whelps which I figure is June the 22nd. Hugs, Lee and Babies

You sure she's just 44 days? She looks awfully big. Just make sure that you get her an x-ray. That way, you'll know how many she has and if she'll be able to whelp on her own (assisted, that is).

Yes, how many has her x-ray shown her to be carrying?? Bless her...she does look quite big for only 44 days. If she hasn't had an x-ray yet, please take her in to have one to be sure the dates are correct, you know how many babies to expect and to have the circumference of the heads and bodies measured to the size of her pelvis. Boy, do I remember those days myself...

I agree - I would definitely get an x-ray. This way you know how many puppies to expect, a more exact day of delivery, as well as if they are all facing the right direction. She does look very large for 44 days, Even with Rosie's 2nd litter she didn't appear that large by day 44. I definitely don't miss waiting for Rosie to have her babies, but I sure miss the babies after they get here!

I messed up on her days she is on day 50 June 7th (Today), I'm just off 1 day, I recounted them. I called for her to see the vet next week, so I'll find out then for sure. I'll let U all know what they say. I still think she is big for day 50. I have to put her in her carrier to take her out for I can't carry her anymore she's so big and she is going but over head down the steps. I just say come on Tiff lets go out and she goes right to her carrier, I then lift it up and take her out, I don't carry it by the handle I'm afraid if it was to give then I'd loose her and our babies too. I still can't feel any babies moving yet and she'll turn over on her back and let me feel it's so sweet. No milk yet either. I started taking her temp this evening, she is so good with me doing whatever I need to do. I'm washing ALL blankies tomorrow, my daughter brought tons of her receiving blankets over from my grandaughter so we're getting ready. I can't wait, I just pray everything is okay with her. At day 50 do U all think she still looks big? Let me know what U think. Oh and thank GOD our vet has a office here in our town, I thought I might have to drive 10 miles from our house to get to their office but I ask if they had a office here in my town (Seymour, Indiana) and they said yes....That makes me feel so much better, I also have gas already in my car, keeping a full tank and I told my babies (Real girls, ages 8 & 11) if mommy has to run to the vet @ anytime, just keep U're flip flops by the door and be ready to go and don't ask questions! LOL! U NEVER know what could happen between now and her whelpin. Just keep her in U're prayers PLEASE!!!!!! Just because she had an easy time with our 1st litter doesn't mean this one will be easy, especially since she is so so big. She NEVER got this big @ all with her 1st litter!!!!!!! I Weighed her today on our baby scales (Got them back from my daughter today too!) she's 12 lbs 6 oz.s so she's gained like 2.6 oz so far she's usually right around 10 lbs. unpregnant. Yes I'm a worry wart when it comes to my girls. I just hope there isn't any real big ones to where she can't have them. Just please remember her that she can carry them until she is due and has a safe whelping, I'll take new photos tomorrow of her and post. Hugs, Lee and Babies

She does look big in the pics but she really hasn't gained that much for her weight. Roxie had 7 pups this time and she gained about 5 lbs. Yes she was huge!!! The first 2 pups were big over 6 oz. but the rest were between 4 and 5 oz. You should be able to feel the little ones beginning to move now. I'm glad you're taking her to the vet, it's almost time for her xray anyway. Because she's a big gal does she throw big pups? Alot of times the second litter will be bigger than the first. Good luck, Tami

it is hard to tell about the 2nd litter. my little girl had 5 on her first litter. all were small except for one. her 2nd litter i thought she was going to bust wide open b/c she was so big but she only had 3. 3 huge babies. so, it is really hard to tell for me.

Tiffanie had 4 with her 1st litter only ONE was big Sir. Lancelot and now @ 13 months old he still isn't as big as Tiffianie. Here is the weight's of them @ the time of their Whelping: 4.8 oz, 5.8 oz, Our fatty! LOL! 4.4 oz and 5 oz. so they wasn't really big, big I'd say medium...Don't know tho with that being her 1st litter. I said they are either whoppers or a lot of them one, don't matter to me as long as they are healthy and she does good on her whelping, I love big, little and medium babies ...I know when it comes to finding forever homes for any bigger Yorkie the people out there wants the little ones that bothers me too for a puppy/Yorkie just wants love and care no matter it's size and it's like our bigger babies seems to pay a price for their size. But not with me I love them all! That's just my thoughts tho. I'll take photos of her later today and post them later for U all to see her. Take care and thanks so very much. I call Tiffanie my Bamaha (Spelling there) Momma!!!!!! LOL! I tried to feel for the babies last night like 2 in the morning, no luck I'll try to feel for them again today, she loves me to feel her belly she rolls right over on her back for me I don't see how but she does and just stretches her legs out. I ask her if she's hurting but she just nudges me to rub her belly, she really is a BIG and I mean BIG baby! I'll also find out how much she weighed last time I weighed her...I don't weigh out older babies much as I do the younger babies. Thanks and Hugs, Lee & babies

THis is her 2nd litter with her 1st litter she threw one big pup Sir. Lancelot and no one wanted him for their forever homes so he went to my sister. Her mother throws 1 big one every litter too, so I guess it runs in her line. I'm really wondering how many she'll have this time or if she's just got a few bigs ones. I was wondering how can U hear the heartbeats? I have a stestocope (Spelling there) my sis brought it to me last night. Where can U hear them @ in her belly I hear Tiffanies but not the puppies. Just wanted to know I'd love to hear them when I take her to the vet Monday I'm gonna ask him to let me listen if I can remember too! Hugs, Lee
