You will be so relieved when the "kids" are finally here, and secure in your knowledge that Kiley is well. We all can't wait to see your sweet babies. You know, once this is done, you will be an expert and hope you remain on YT to help others. Take care. You are the best mommy and should feel very proud. Warmly, Deborah :bravo: |
Hi Kelley, I have been following your Thread about your Kiley.I will be praying for a safe delivery. Hopefully she will have the puppies tomorrow. |
Any news?? Poor little Kiley, I know she will be glad when the babies are here. Kelley, you must be totally exhausted! God bless you both. |
I woke up and checked this thread - first thing. Oh boy, the anticipation! Good luck and hopefully, today will be the day. |
I've been following this thread for days. Surely today is the day! Can't wait to hear more news! And good luck! :) |

Try some Esbilac. It's dried puppy formula. You can get it at the vet or any other pet supply store. 1 week before whelping, mine get 1/3 of a cup a day. After whelping, I give them 1/2 a cup of it a day. They love it! |
I've been watching this thread waiting for baby announcements :) Sending good thoughts for a very safe whelp for your special little girl !!! |
I agree the momma need calcium before the babies are born too. We had a mother with a large litter have preeclampsia several days before the litter. The vet had to give her a shot of calcium. This girl was getting cheese (Co-Jack) everyday, and it did not help (picky eater). She would not eat cottage cheese or sour cream. We found she would eat her regular soft puppy food with the gel squeezed out of a human Calcium gel cap. I tasted the gel and it did not have any flavor. |
Glad to hear everything is okay, and she is eating. Need to get ready for work, but wanted to check on you and Kiley. Take care and look forward to your post later in the day. -Deborah |
Just came across this post! My prayers are with mom and babies. Can't wait to get an update! You're an angel, girl!!! |
NO HOTDOGS!!! I have heard of small dogs dying from just one hotdog, it has something in it that destroys the liver or something |
Update!! Ok, so we just got back from a new vet....I have been wanting to change vets for a little while and decided to try out this new one since my other one wasnt telling me anything and refused to give her a calcium supplement saying she did not need it.... The new vet was SOOOOO nice!! She said Kiley was a little over 9 pounds now!!! She took an x-ray to make sure she could have the pups ok (which the other vet said you could not do). She saw 4 possible 6 very healthy looking pups all turned the right way, the heads were a good size and she should have them with no problems. She checked her and said she could get her pinkie in her cervix, but no pups in the canal as of yet. She seems to think that for the past week she has been having small contractions and she said she would be looking for pups tonight!!! I really hope so!!! I think I will stick with this vet, she makes me feel so much more comfortable. And she even gave me some calcium supplements to crush up and put in her food and said she would do a shot if she got eclampsia (sp). ill keep yall posted, hope we see something soon!! |

This is such a neat thread - to see everybody supporting you and reaching out and giving GREAT advice. |
Not always true though... both my moms had their pups starting at 7:00 pm. Maybe because I threatened to whoop their little hinnies if they woke me up... Just jokin'... But I did so appreciate them being timely about it. :D |
