Is she squatting when that happens or just standing there is it disharge, does it look clear like water or a bit thicker? |
Good to hear you have someone you can call about her if needed,if no pups later maybe you could just touch base with them on her condition and symptoms. My vet would do another check if it has been 24 hours from the temp drop. |
standing and laying down. When she gets up there will be a few drops on the paper. Its clear and not really thick. She has had the thick clear discharge for a little while...but whats on the paper is kinda watery. |

ill try that tomorrow. Can i do it and not tell them my name. I dont want to get anything started with her and have her try to get kiley back or find out shes preg and say the pups are hers and try to get them. |
I am so nervous, I cant imagine how you feel. I hope this all works out!! |

It is important to give the humane society your name because it builds credability to getting her in real trouble. They wont tell her any info about who reported her, so you dont have to worry about that. You can use a false name if youd like, the important thing is they go and check it out. Make sure you are giving Keily lots of nutrition, like chicken livers, cottage cheese, and talk to your vet about calcium and magnesium supplements. She will need all she can get while feeding the pups and since she is older she is more prone to promblems so watch for any lameness, vomiting, diarrhea, make sure she is eating and drinking. if she is not drinking then fill some water in a needless syringe and inject in her cheek every hour or so. Let us know Wishing her well |

Ill call them tomorrow and stress that i dont want them to give her any information about who told them. |
Kelly how is everything I would think you have pups by now??? I was Out Of Town but thought about you and Mom the whole time. My gosh I Hope All is Ok. Please update soon. |
Any babies this am? |
Have been checking this thread often, hope there is some good news soon:) |
As a breeder, I have checked this thread a hundred times to see if any more help is needed. I was hoping for an update this morning. |

I have been following this thread closely myself and surely would have thought the puppies would be here by now. This same thing happened when Rosie was having her last litter, and the vet kept encouraging me to "wait". I following my gut instinct when the puppies were not coming after about 24 hours, and I told him I don't care what it cost, I was bringing her in. Turns out a puppy was sideways in the birth canal and if I would have continued waiting, they would not have survived. So I would encourage you to follow your gut if you think you need to take them in - Rosie ended up having a C-section and I am SOO thankful I pressed the issue! I wish you and your babies all the best! |
Watching this thread and sending warm thoughts to Momma pup. Kelly, you are wonderful and so caring. Not once have you spoke about the cost of the vet, etc., which is terrific. Also, the vet sounds like the best to have on your team. Hands on! Looking forward to hearing good news about the new wee puppies and Momma is healthy. It is amazing how much we love them, isn't it? Deborah PS Don't worry about the breeder wanting her back or the puppies. She was sold "as is"... When your life settles down, then you can address contacting the Humane Society but now is not the time. You are too busy |
I've been really interested to see too if everyone (mom and babies) will be all right. I hope everything is going/went okay... Hope she updates soon and everyone is doing well! |
hi, sorry for the delay... i had to work today but my husband was here with her all day and knows NOTHING about computers so he couldnt post anything. No pups yet. Temp is still 99.3 and shes been laying around all day not really eating much. I took her in friday to see if the pups were ok and to make sure they were not sitting wierd to where they would not come out. The vet said all was ok. she has not been having any contractions as far as i can tell. You can tell she is VERY uncomfortable though. Pups are still active, though not as active as they have been. If we dont have pups tonight she is going back to the vet tomorrow. Shes been sleeping all day like she knows she will need the rest. My husband had her out today and said she was "mothering" our 7 week old chihuahua-Daisy. Im sure i will be back with more questions tonight since Ive got this feeling that it may be tonight. I hope so anyway!! |
Kelly thank you sooooo much for the update sounds like she is in loving hands.. I will keep up and I bet pups will be here tonight :) ((((HUGS)))) to all |
Keep us updated! We're all squiriming with anticipation for you and Kiley! Good luck to both of you! You're in our thoughts and prayers. |
Just getting back here to check and see how everyone is doing....I know nothing about delivery of new pups...just what I can remember when I was a teenager (many many years ago) we were at the drive in watching "Guess Who's Coming To Dinner" with Sidney Poitier.. (oh boy, is this ever aging me eek: ) I remember leaving the drive-in and heading to the fire station so that the fireman could help deliver the pups. : anyway all turned out well and mom delivered 5 healthy babies....I'm sending prayers :hands: :hands: :hands: that she has her lil ones soon and everyone is alright..... |
