| I saw on here where someone took a rubbermaid tub and cut a hole in it for a dog door, then they could also take off the top to assist with the puppies. It looked like a good idea. |

| I use a rubber maid under the bed storage box, its great, easy to clean and the heating pad covers about 1/2 of it.

Awwwwww...thank you, it was mine but I compiled it from all the information I got off of YorkieTalk and made my best with it. I could not have done it without everyones advice!! I also had a heating pad in the back left corner, under the box which both the Trini and her pups made use of. It worked great for me and I loved it!! So easy to clean...

I thought it was so clever, and difinitley plan to make one. Does your dog use it for a bed, or do you keep it just for whelping? | |

| I'll never go thru another litter of puppies, but boy is this a clever idea!!! If ever I know of anyone that plans on breeding a small dog, I'll let them know about this wonderful set-up!! |

| I use the under the bed Rubbermaid box too. It is perfect since it is big enought to put the heating pad in one side and momma can get off of it if she gets too warm. It is short enough where momma can jump in and out easily too. It fits in the play pen perfectly too. It also has one of those lids that are split in half and you can open it on both ends and flip each end up. I use that lid for the backdrop when I take pictures of the pups for the website. I sit it on the table and drape material over it and it makes a perfect backdrop. Then when your babies outgrow it you put all of your welping stuff in it and slide it under the bed where it is out of sight until next time. |

| whelping box I got an old fashioned low crib with the wooden slats in it and got some lattice work that you use in the garden and put around it so the pups can't get out but it is low enuf for Mom to jump in and out. I works out great, cause the pups can't get out unless I get them out and I don't always have to be on the hunt for them as they get older!

Last time hubby made me a new box...about 2 1/2 x 2/12 ft (a square) and made it to fit snug around the base so that the bottom could still be popped out.? He covered it with vinyl so it was easy to clean up?just take it out and hose it. It cost right around $20 to make and was big enough for the pups to stay in for quite a while (I think they were able to get out over the top around 5 weeks?) Once they were to big to stay in it all the time, it was still great just to grab the frame and use to keep them put while vaccuming or doing something where they wouldn't be underfoot.
