I know ZERO about breeding/stud fees, etc. so keep that in mind when I say:

WTF?!?! Why is it so important to her that the pup is a female if she's just going to turn around and SELL it? I know females go for more, but not that much more

And how can she be so callous? I don't particularly think that letting the stud's owner pic the best puppy is very fair either, the female does 99.9% of the work and assumes 100% of the risk.

I'm SO glad that I don't have any interest in breeding, other than looking at everyone else's puppies and pregnant Mommies and ooohing and aaahing over them

I hope that you can come to an agreement with her. How is your girl, is she feeling okay?

I really hate to sound like this but right now you shouldnt be worrying about if the pups are going to sell. Your bitch just had a c-section, you should be more concerned about her right now then selling these puppies.

Its not only that that I am worried about! My girl is doing just fine it has been three weeks now and she did wonderful with the C-Section so believe me its more to it then just worried about how they will sell I was just worried that when the time comes they will not get rejected just because of this!!
But my Lady Bella and my boys are WAY more important than this!!!! It was just a topic I wanted to share and get advice

OK i already posted earlier but i have been thinking about this (please don't freak out on me lol) OK if the stud owner agreed that she would have pick of the litter with a female instead of a stud fee and she was going to sell the puppy for a $1000.00 she does kinda have the right to ask for that. I do understand that under the circumstances it is rude for her to demand this but she does have a point. I would talk to her and also contact AKC as said above sorry i'm not trying to side with her but i do understand why she is asking that much it's not really the stud fee she's asking for but the replacing of the money she lost on selling the puppy. OMG i know i'm gonna get it now. Sorry

I understand you but I do not agree.They have a right to ask for anything ....... but in a court of law she has no allies. You better do right.

I would as a breeder disagree with those pratices. But you know these are my practices. Secluded.

There are alot of us too. Dedicated.

Yes I know it wasnt nice what I said but from how I read the posting was she was really just concerned shes not going to be able to sell these puppies, that bothered me. Theres so much more to worry about then not being able to sell those puppies. Those pups will sell but without papers your not going to get what you probably want for them.
This is the importance of a written contract. Yes its sad she did loose the girls but this was the stipulation in the verbal contract she had with the owner of the stud. I think it was all wrong on both parties. No one can gaurentee what sex those puppies were going to be so to agree to get a female was a crap shoot. The owner of the stud is entitled to some kind of compensation as per their agreement. Yes the stud owner seems kind of rude but shes running a business and she now needs to be paid for her services.
I think the AKC is going to side with the stud owner, why should the owner give the info if she is not going to get paid for the service she provided
