WOOHOO first pup to be born at 8:23... my girl is exausted!!! The baby is still attached to her vagina... I called the animal hospital... every thing is normal...

1Boy and 1 girl....

one of the pups... had this really curly bright red thing on her/his tummy... my girl ate all around but is not touching that.. see pic!!

Please someone tell me what it is?

Is it attached to the tummy where the umblical cord is or is it attached somewhere else?

Ok, first, I am NOT a vet...I am new to breeding and have only had two litters...now, my honest opinion, and my gut feeling is, that is the puppy's intestines and they developed outside of her body. IT IS VERY POSSIBLE THAT I AM WRONG. That is just MY conclusion from the picture you posted. You need to call your vet ASAP. Please.
